We are doing a Secret Santa at work we have a $25 limit which is all well and good no problems there. But the problem with Secret Santas as it often is, is the person you pick. I picked someone that, while I know and like him I dont know well enough to buy a present for. I have asked around but no one really knows him as well as we all know each other, mostly because we all work together closley and he has a different job that doesnt having him interacting with the rest of us as much as we all interact with each other. Anyway I have no idea what to get him and I dont want to get him a gift card. We were all joking the other day that we were all getting each other gift cards and well isnt that just like trading my $25 for someone elses? I dont think that is really in the spirit of what the Secret Santa is supposed to be and besides I have always disliked gifting gift cards.

So... anyone have any ideas of what I could get him??:santa:

Well, I was gonna say a gift card. :rotfl2: But on second thought, maybe not. ;)

Tickets to a movie theater or a local museum? I know it's kinda like a gift card, but a bit different.

How about gloves and/or a scarf? Maybe something for his car, like a new scraper for the ice on the windows? Does he drink coffee? My DH got a really nice travel mug from Starbucks and he LOVES it. That and some nice coffee or hot chocolate mix?

That's all I have right now. Will try to think of more.

Maybe a box of godiva chocolates or some other type of treat! Everyone likes food!

Yeah, food is always a winner. How about making a small gift basket with some nice cheese, a chub of salami and a small cheese board or cheese slicer set?

Or a Christmas breakfast gift basket with pastrys and crossants or a yummy pancake or muffin mix, some syrup or jam coffe mug, coffee, and hotchoclate.

Love this idea!

I sent my son's favorite teacher an italian food basket. Olive oil, sauce, loaf of bread and pasta. She LOVED it!!

I did this for our Dirty Santa game at work. I bought a $10 travel mug and large $6 ceramic mug at Starbucks, then I bought a $10 McCafe gift card at McDonald's. It would have been nice to stick with the SB theme for the giftcard but our nearest one is an hour away. This way they can use the McD's card to get coffee on the way to work. Anyway, it was a hit :)

Towels and other things for pampering.

I don't know if you have Sheetz where you live, but I got our DD a coffee cup from there (it was about $6.99). She loves their hot chocolate but it's expensive to have every day. The refills with their cup are just 89 cents. We gave her the mug and a gift card from Sheetz to get her refills. If you don't have Sheetz, what is your chain type convenience store there? They might have them.

Thank you all, I had my friend and co worker do a little digging for me. We got his favorite colors and so on and I think I got a good gift. This was a hard one but I wound up getting him a really nice set of leather gloves a knitted hat and some chocolate coffee. Keep him nice and warm in this cold winter we have been having around here!

I think this gift shopping was harder than my job LOL and I work with children with autism so thats saying a lot!

Sounds like you made a good choice :thumbsup2

At my office, we all put a Dear Santa letter on the outside of our office with a little "wish list". It really helped people get ideas!

I was going to say I have never met a man that didn't love flashlights!
