Hi Everyone, I know I haven't been around much but just aksing for a bit of prayers for my family - we found out Tuesday that my Gram who has Alzheimer's and has been sick with the Flu for 3 weeks who stopped eating last Thursday will likely pass in the week or so. We'd just like it to be quick and painless for her.. thanks Michelle

Well the 2 week extension just passed the senate.
We are covered until the 18th of March for now.....

So sorry about your aunt. Have you considered doing some kind of blog for her? Like FB, Twitter, or even Caring Bridge? This could help her document things in case it could help someone else going through the same thing as well as giving her a chance to write her thoughts or feelings or even just to get instant pick me ups. It might be a pain to start, but I think it will be very beneficial for her spirit. Good thoughts and prayers for you all.

I am being very bad and have the main tv shut out so the kids can't watch it. Also have the computer passworded so no kid access can happen. Jeff knows it is on & will watch inhis room after Krista goes to bed, which may stop if he can't get up in the morning. Trying to get them doing things around the house & for Krista to stop stareing for hours!! I'll keep you updated as I am trying to draw back a bit from the games I play on the PC. Haven't had the jitters ... yet!

Thanks for all the good thoughts and wishes for our budget situation. Hopefully something will get resolved and soon. Hmmmm wonder which will get settled first--our budget or the football budget?

On a sidebar, my old building has apparently been outside for over an hour because of a suspicious package/bomb threat. I was there earlier today, guess I made it out of there in time.

I know I have not posted lately about my Aunt with Cancer, but they found another node of Cancer and this is a different type attached to her v*****l wall; I have heard her say the name, and she told me that she is butchering the pronunciation, so I really have no idea what the name of it is. I asked her to write it down and spell it to me so maybe when she goes back to the doctor.

She is seeing a Gynecologic Cancer Specialist and continuing her Chemo and radiation. It was originally scheduled for 9 weeks but they are adding an additional 6 weeks for this new type of cancer.

She is down to 90 pounds and having to get kids pants wear. She has lost 40 pounds and it breaks my heart to see her. Her hair is all but gone now and her spirit is very low.

As I find out more I will let you know.

she and I talk every week and I have heard her laugh, which is a good sign but she is just not herself.

Thanks again for being there for me and letting me get this off my chest and shoulders.

So Sunday looked like this....

So Monday was spent at the Orthopedist and being fitted for a brace/cast... Have to go back in two weeks to see how bad the ligament is.

yuck! Brandi, that looks painful!

That is DH's thumb, knowing him as well as I do I can confirm that he was in a LOT of pain!

And I can tell you that they gave him a lortab (Hydrocordone (SP?) plus acetaminophen ), a shot of lydocaine (something to numb) and then sprayed this really cold stuff on his thumb (like liquid nitrogen but different) before they set it and he still screamed out in pain and turned white as a sheet! I felt for him big time.....

He missed the last rung on the ladder, he thought he had reached the bottom and just walked off the ladder, as he was falling, he was trying not to hit the Harley that was parked close by so he stuck out his hand to break his fall....

Really he his lucky it was not worse, but the DR did tell him it would have been better if he had made a clean break.

He has 2 fractures, a severe dislocation and a torn ligament. They need the swelling to go down before they see how bad it really is, so they gave 2 weeks until he comes back for more x-rays...

The Harley is fine... DH never touched it, he did complain to the Dr that he was missing prime riding time b/c of the cast!

Yikes Brandi-- he probably would've been better off hitting the Harley. Hope he finds relief soon.
