Hi,

I was just wondering how the crowds are the second week of May vs crowd levels at the end of August. We went last year during the end of August, and we found that the crowd level was very low, and for some reason our family is a bit weird, but we like it when it is busier. So can anyone do an comparsion? We also found that going during the last week of August, we ran into many many British people, when we go the second week of May will it be families with pre-schoolers since most people are still in school? Maybe more college students? Thanks for your replies :sunny:

We are going May 12-18.. not sure about the lines yet since we have not gone yet.. but we are taking our kids out of school to go also, so please no flaming.. we okied it with the teachers and they are all happy for the girls! I have heard the lines are smaller at this time.. but disney is always somewhat busy with people, it is never dead :)

Hi,

The second week of May will be less busy than the last week in August.

If you want it to be busy, go any time between Memorial Day and August 15, or over any holiday break!

We went last year during the 2nd week of May and this year we're doing it again (May 15 - 23). Last year, at the start of the week, it was very pleasant---crowds certainly weren't as low as when we've been there in January, but there wasn't much of a wait for rides, etc. Near the end of our week there, the crowds picked up noticeably. Of course, the Star Wars Weekends at MGM brings huge crowds, but in general, it seemed busier as well.

Yes. We were there from the 11-21st of May last year. Hardly any waits and then all of a sudden, BAM! The 21st came and attractions that we had waited 10 minutes for were up to 90 minutes. This is due to southern schools getting out for the summer. They must all flock to Disney the very next day! It was crazy how the crowds changed so suddenly. But the second week of May is great! :thumbsup2

Don't agree with that one now. We were there the last week of August last year and it was definitely LESS CROWDED than it was the past few days. Even though the 2nd week of May is still a week away, it'll only get more crowded as the weeks go on. I was totally surprised about how crowded it was the past week and was told they only expect it to get worse from here on in.

If you like it busier, go the 2nd week of May (frankly, I don't know why you prefer it busier, I had to leave AK yesterday by 1:00 because we could barely move around the Tusker House area!! It was awful!) And EPCOT crowds grew by 11:30-12 today with TT on a 40 minute wait by 11:00. Soarin FPs ran out everyday this trip. Last year this exact time wasn't nearly so busy...even with the PRESS EVENTS from the Happiest Celebration in the World Kick-off, but EXP. EVEREST is really bringing in the crowds this year.

I was so ready to go home this trip :guilty: The weather was the only thing that kept us from leaving earlier than planned, I enjoyed playing at our resort more than going to the parks!

Last year we went the first week in June and then again towards the end of August. We enjoyed both trips, but we enjoyed the June trip more because it was busier but the parks were open longer and we enjoyed the double spectro parades.

Well I think cause we have only been to Disney during peak hoilday season, we were so used to the crowd and just seem more livelier and some how more exciting, but I think that might have to do with the Christmas atmosphere, and music etc etc. And when we went to MGM it seems like they were closing everything early and blocking entry off since it was slow.

go end of august - who knows disney may be offering their free dinning again next year!
