Second week in June?

We always try to go during the first couple of weeks in June. It is hot, humid and crowded, and every time we say "not again"! However, here we are about 50 days out from departure!!

It is all about preparation and also "going with the flow"! Due to the down pours and all of the other elements listed above, you just need to be flexible with your schedule. Realize that you can't do everything, especially if you have young kids. So enjoy everything that you do! :goodvibes

See ya June 14-22!!!

We used to live in upstate ny, and being a teacher our vacations were always at the end of June and early July. It is very hot, and humid. Most people seem to vacation around that time also. That being said you should prepare for that. To be honest, we were probably still frozen from the winters, so the heat did not bother us. Nothing stood in the way of us having a great time. :teeth: Of course we would stay for 8-10 days so we weren't pressured to go on everything as soon as possible. We took a relaxed attitude, made plenty use of the pools and went to the parks when it was a bit more bearable most of the time. With a bit of planning, you can do most everything. If your kids are young you will need time to relax, or you are for sure not going to enjoy yourself.
Now we live here and are even more relaxed when we go, and of course can be more selective. To be honest, we still plan our vacations around that time, because we like to be there during the July 4th week. Call us nuts but we still love it. You will have a great time, just prepare yourself and yes, its still better than being in the office.

my family has always been there around the 2-3 week of june. (June 5-12 this year) it does get hot but the showers are a welcomed relief. Plus FL schools aren't out so you don't have as much local crowding.

just bring the ponchos, sunscreen, and sunglasses!

and remember you're in DISNEY WORLD have fun!! :cool1:

We're going first time in June (17-24) at Pop! When do the local FL schools get out?

:confused3

my mother is a teacher in iowa but she has said that FL schools start later in the year due to such hot august heat. so they get out mid-june.

but don't quote me on that!! i have no proof besides my mom's judgement (which through the years has been pretty good)

I am going the last week in June and First week of July. We have done it before and yes its busy, yes its hot, but always remember that you are inm DISNEY! Yes you will not see everything but you will love the things that you do see!

This is so true!!!! A lot of people vacation around this time and they keep doing it!!!!!!

I don't know how you can go to Disney and 'be miserable'. I don't care what the weather is.

Just take the necessary precautions and you will be fine. It is no different than wearing a coat and boots in the winter. You simply adapt to your surroundings.

As of this year, no one has yet been reported to have burst into flames :furious: in Disney World in the summer!!

Went with my family a few years ago in June never again will i go during that time. It rained everyday and not just in the afternoon. The first day we arrived it rained all day. The kids got hardly any time to swim and that was a bigger dissapointment to them than going to the parks. We did an illuminations cruise rained during that to we were miserable! I found the parks to be ok as far as crowds we did the fast pass and we were able to get on all the rides we wanted. All in all we had an ok time I personally will go a different time. :sad2: :sad1:

We are planning on going for 10 days next year(from advice from summer DISers). We are also vets of WDW and that helps. It will be the first summer trip for our DS but I will prepare him as much as I can. We will be doing early mornings and staying on-site. If we can afford WL that will be our top choice. I hear WL is a vacation on its own. :sunny: So we can enjoy the resort if the weather gets to us

ALL of our previous trips were in June, July or August. We go again in June (21/28). We started when our twin DD's were 6 and DS was 12. Each time we had a great vacation. We used the usual tips; get to the park early, use FP, drink lots of water, take a mid-day break, etc. The parks are open later and most attractions are not down for rehab. Sure it's hot, but you are in central Florida. (And you are in WDW!!) It's what you make of it. Enjoy!!

I don't know about other counties in FL. We're actually going the first week of July since our seasonal passes are still good 'till 06/10. :sunny:
