Second guessing ourselves

Thanks everyone for the advice and input.
DF keeps asking me what the poll numbers are

We chose France because it had a special meaning to us, so we would lose that if we moved to SBP. And after seeing Carries beautiful pics in Morrocco (and other weddings in italy etc) I do feel we would miss out on that.

BUT... DF talked to Disney photo last week (photography is his hobby) and he just wasnt impressed by the answers of the attitude he received. We also dont see anything impressive from the photographers online.

I totally agree, I know there were a bunch of us brides that wrote letters last year when they were implementing it

In the end, go with your gut and if France has special meaning to you then you don't want to regret not having it there

IDk, France maybe a great location but if you get stuck with blah pictures you would regret that as well. I would hate to not have great pics of my wedding to hang on the wall for years to come. This really is a hard choice!

I am getting married in Italy and was lucky enough to sign before the change. I wouldn't be getting married at Disney now if I couldn't have the Roots. I don't love the out of park locations other than WL but I have too many peeps for that. I feel for ya!!!

We used DPS and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them. With that said, I also wouldn't change my photographer based on my location, I picked locations that I loved and worked with the rules around them.

I think having an in-park wedding is an awesome back drop and I don't think DPS will disappoint. They won't be the same photos as Misty, but which place makes you happier?

We had DPS for our Escape Wedding and I was pleased with the pics. They weren't super creative, but they were great! And our MK/Epcot photo shoot with Ty was very creative. I know some brides have had issues with his MK shots, but many believe it is because they didn't use DPS for their wedding. Maybe you could set up a phone interview with him specifically, because he definitely has the creative talent (and as pointed out by some on this board...great photoshopping ability!)

We used DPS and I was really happy with them. I can see where others have been frustrated, though, and it was a little nerve wracking not to know what we were getting ahead of time.

That being said, I would do my ceremony where I want my ceremony. I think you would regret that more later. There's a good chance you will end up with nice pictures if you choose France and use DPS; there's no chance you will have the ceremony in France if you choose SBP and use Misty.

Maybe you could use Misty for before and after pictures as others have suggested

I completely agree with you. Disney Photography lost ALL of my photos and were HORRIBLE to work with trying to get any type of compensation or even an explanation for our lost pictures. They were least Disney-like cast members I have ever had to deal with

It is a very stupid rule. I hope it all works out for your though, whatever you decide to do in the end.

Just from looking at everybody's pics on here, I'd go to SBP and use Misty. The pics that I've looked at by Misty are far better than anything I've seen done by Disney. Plus, I think SBP is gorgeous in pics!
