We are arriving in two days and I am second guessing my choices! As this is our first trip, I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on any "must do" restaurants (we are on dxdp). Any feedback?

Dinners:
Whispering Canyon
'Ohana
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic pkg)
California Grill
Hoop Dee Doo
Le Cellier
Kouzzina

Lunches:
Yak & Yeti
Via Napoli
Coral Reef

Breakfasts:
Chef Mickey's
'Ohana
Kona

I am struggling most with the 'Ohana and Kona breakfasts, and the Kouzzina dinner. Should I change these to anything else?

Thanks in advance for any timely feedback! Wish us luck!

Everything looks really good. Don't worry about O'hana or Kona breakfasts because they are both great. We love the character interaction at O'hana, plus the food comes to your table rather you go to it :thumbsup2, and it is really yummy too :goodvibes. At Kona the food is really good especially the Tonga Toast :cloud9:. We haven't eaten at Kouzzina's so I can't comment on that one. The only one that we do not care for, that you have listed, is Chef Mickey's. We have dined there twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner) and after the second time we decided that it is not for us. However, since this is your first trip I wouldn't get rid of it because it is something that you should do at least once. Have a great trip :goodvibes

I just got back a few weeks ago from WDW and we had the fantasmic dining package at Mama Melrose and I really liked this restaurant. I had a steak and my daughter ate I think chicken parmesana. Food was good. This also includes a appetiser. We had the caesar salad. We showed up to fantasmic like 15 minutes before the show and got great seats! The only problem was it started raining during the show and we didn't have ponchos so make sure to be prepared on that one and the seats were wet from raining earlier and I didn't have any napkins or anything to wipe the seats with so maybe keep that in mind as well. Enjoy:thumbsup2

Have you looked at the menus on allears? That's how I pick places (along with some imput from others) Based on the menu, 'Ohana is totally unappealing to me. Even though it gets such good press on these boards I'd never actually go.

'Ohana and Kona are two of my favorite breakfasts! I wouldn't stress over those. I am not a fan of Chef Mickey but if you enjoy the characters you may like it. Your dinners all look really good! :thumbsup2

I would probably switch Coral Reef lunch to Le Cellier (only one credit at lunch).

Who will be in your party? What types of food do you enjoy? Will you have a car? Where will you be staying? Knowing this would help in giving advice as to where to eat. ;)

Kouzzina was great.. We had it for breakfast though.. But, its in a great area.. So much going on.. so you can walk the boardwalk and then even take in some entertainment..

Kona and Ohana are great.. I like dinner at Ohana.. I wasn't thrilled with breakfast but that was because I had a really rude waitress that pretty much had something to say to me about getting irritated with my son who dropped his sticky orange juice all over himself and our table (he does this all time, so it was just one of those things tht set me off)..

As for Chef Mickey's.. it is a MUST do for us, every trip.. not because of the food.. if you are going for the food you will be disappointed.. its for the interaction with the characters and the area its in..we have always been really lucky and gotten a table in the back area which has a huge window facing the castle..

Dinners:
Whispering Canyon - I personally like WC, but many posters do not like the "CM interaction". Example: ask for a straw, and the CM will throw a bunch of straws at you. It's loud, crazy, WDW fun!
'Ohana - Never been, not found of buffets, family style restaurants.
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic pkg) - good
California Grill - awesome!
Hoop Dee Doo - since it's your first trip, a must do, show is great.
Le Cellier - I think it has gone downhill, recomment Flying Fish of YSH.
Kouzzina - very very good

Lunches:
Yak & Yeti -Yuck! There is not 1 place at the AK we will eat at, we just have a big breakfast, and then bring snacks to the AK
Via Napoli - awesome pizza
Coral Reef - Yuck! Try Chef de France

Breakfasts:
Chef Mickey's - fun since you are 1st timers, great characters, but don't go for the food, the food is awful.
'Ohana - never been
Kona - good

I added my opinions next to each restaurant you listed. Have a great time!

I also prefer dinner at Ohana. We did not feel the breakfast was a good value. We were also on DxDP and did some breakfast buffets (best was Tusker House) and we felt the buffets had far more selection. When we got the bill, we laughed thinking that had we paid OOP, it would have been $50 for the two of us for some bacon, eggs, and mickey waffles :sad2:
