Second Guessing my ADR's -- Should I change?

Well, after putting hours of thought into picking our restaurants, now I'm second guessing myself after reading more posts in the Forum (I really need to stop reading all these, I think I'm addicted! :surfweb: )

I booked dinner @ Coral Reef at Epcot, but now I'm reading some bad things about them, so I'm wondering if I should change to Beirgarten (DH & I love German food), which I have booked for a lunch earlier in the week.

I would then replace the earlier Biergarten lunch with a lunch at the Garden Grill and get another character meal out of it.

Any thoughts? Will I be sorry if I stick with Coral Reef? The setting is so cool, but it won't make up for poor food for us.

We just visited Disney World duringThanksgiving week-2007. We ate at the Coral Reef on our Epcot day. We LOVED IT! The food was excellent, our server was extremely nice and attentive, the kids thought the giant aquarium was the "NEATEST THING EVER"...I did make the comment on my dining report, it seemed like we had entered a "mob restaraunt" or "sixties restaraunt"...:rotfl: We would eat there again. We are going on a Magical Gathering next January and we are going to try to Garden Grill. Good Luck, but I am sure anything you choose will be fine, after all it is Disney World :thumbsup2

We loved the Coral Reef! I say just go for it! I read some bad reviews about it before we went and I was a little nervous about going there, but I am sure glad that we did! It was a great meal. We went for lunch, but I think that the lunch and dinner menu are about the same. We will for sure be going back. I have learned that everyone has different opinions and experiences at restaurants. A wonderful restaurant has a bad day every now and then and people have different taste too! I would stick with Coral Reef and form your own opinion. I am glad that I did!:thumbsup2

I would not change Coral Reef we had a very good meal there. We ate EVERYTHING they put in front of us at lunch; refills too! :lmao:

The aquarium was great. We ate there during a rain storm and hadn't a clue it was raining until we returned to the lobby for the rest room and had to step over lots of wet, waiting bodies. OK I cracked a smile at that point; sorry. :cool1: The pixie dust was definitely with us.

It can be a hard ADR; there is a good reason for that. :thumbsup2

We also love Coral Reef. I am planning on it in August.

Some of my favortie restaurants are slammed on the Dis. And some that others love, I didn't go for. So you never know!

BTW, we also love Garden Grill.

I almost cancelled my ADR's at Coral Reef due to the mixed reviews but decided I would try it for myself. I have to say, it was probably the best meal I had during my visit in August. I am going again in a few weeks and hopefully I can get another ADR.

Personally, I would stick with it.

Man, I guess I'm the only one who didnt like it. I thought the menu was a bit limited, and it was a bit loud in there.

My advice - if you like the menu, then go. There's a good chance that you will like it.

I'm really beginning to notice that EVERY restaurant has at least a few bad reviews here, so don't let that limit you - otherwise there's no where left to eat!

I booked Coral Reef for our upcoming trip this summer and am very much looking forward to it. It's been awhile since we've been there. Heck, I even made an ADR at San Angel for my trip, and we all know how many bad reviews that place gets here. For me, it's the ambience.

Stick with your ADR - I think you'll be very happy you did.

Remember you can't please all the people all the time. Just look for a pattern. We ran into that at Sci-Fi, I thought it looked cool, alot of people said they like it....well, we went for dinner and it was awful (worst dining experience I have had at WDW). I am sure this was part because I had high expectations and had been looking forward to it....

After more research after the fact, I found most of the people that really liked it were lunch customers and got burgers and shakes! Now I am thinking about going back...haha.

Never change a dining reservation because you heard one bad review. There was a reason you chose that restaurant.

That being said, please do not go into your meal with the thought in the back of your mind that the meal is going to be bad. Then it will be.
