Heading to the Fort for our first time in April!! So excited!! It's just me, hubby, and our furbaby in a 40ft 5th wheel, and we booked a Full Hookup site (we don't mind walking... thinking about bringing bikes as well). Looking for recommendations for a quiet/private site that won't be in a swamp during rainy season. Pup is super quiet, except when she sees other dogs... so that's why we're looking for privacy. It looks like a bunch of sites in 1900 are secluded, but I've read that rain and steep dropoffs can be problems. Husband is pretty confident in his backup abilities (not so much in my ground guiding though... Hopefully there will be friends around who can help lol).
Any thoughts?
Thank you all in advance!
(I get to book our FPs on Tuesday night... The info on these boards has been invaluable, so thank you all so much!!!)

Well the best you can do is request your loop and hope for the best. Bama Ed and The Rusty Scupper have covered this before, you don't get to select your site. This will be our first trip down, just can't wait to find some warmer weather.

Welcome to the camping forum!

You can watch you tube videos on the different loops and request your preferred loop on the online check in.

1600 - 1900 are the clover loops and are pet friendly too (1800 is and I think the rest are too). We stayed in 1800 loop last year and it rained a great deal for 3 days straight. 1800 was pretty dry but 1700 & 1900 got kind of messy. 1800 loop is nice and spacious too.

I've done a lot of research on specific sites, including pics and videos... but nothing shows what happens after a few days of rain. Is all of 1700/1900 under water, or only certain spots?
Thanks everyone!!

The sites are built up a few feet but the water "pools" inside the 1700/1900 loop more than say the 1800 loop. The sites and roads don't get standing water on them (at least from what I have witnessed).

If I were to pick a loop in the clover loops for reasons of staying the driest and more room, then I would opt for 1600/1800.
