We're thinking of visiting Seaworld during a quick weekend visit in November. Is there enough there to hold the interest of a very active 2 year old? Play areas, kid themed shows, kid rides? My husband is excited about Krakken, but I don't want our little one to be bored and cranky! Any comments would be appreciated...

If your kid likes looking at fish, he will enjoy Sea World. There is a kid's play area called Shamu's Happy Harbor. If you put your kid in there, you may never get him out!

Shamu's Happy Harbor is great. Lotsa different things to do, some aimed at very young kids.

A two year old should also enjoy the shows and seeing the Clydesdales (which must seem ENORMOUS to a little person).

Yeah, there's enough to do.

The play area is behind Shamu stadium, and parts of it are shaded. Part of it has tunnels in water, so bring a change of cloths for the kid. The rides are on the other side of the park in the back. Your husband could go on the rides while you and the 2 year old are in the play area, then come back.

We bought my five year old nephew to SW when he was only 2 years old, and he loved it. He enjoyed the shows, exhibits, and being able to meet a manatee walk around character. We didn't bring him to Shamu's Happy Harbor, but we didn't have to because he was fascinated with the exhibits and shows.

We took our daughter last Nov. and she was 20 months. She LOVED Sea World. She really got into the Penguins and manatees. For Christmas, I called Sea World to ship a stuffed manatee toy for her. It's all she kept talking about. She has also learned the names for different types of penguins.

I think lots of kids that age like to look at animals. We will be going to SW next week again with her. She even sat and watched the shows. I don't think her trip to Florida would be complete without it.

It's also a more relaxing type of day for the little ones. There aren't so many colors and not too much over-stimulation. We did it in about 4-5 hours.
