SeaWorld Passport vs Fun Card? Questions

Hello, I am single mom going to Disney/ SeaWorld with my daughter , age 10, and she adores Sea World. we thought about getting the Fun Card since it allows multiple entries to the park until the end of the year. Funcard doesnt have other benefits, just the park admission, I believe. We usually are away for a few weeks and this would be a good deal for us.

However, I was on the website and see we can get a Passport. If I buy the Passport for $30 more, $99 for the year, I also get free parking, which is a great savings. I would also get money off of Discovery Cove , which is great too.
Now my questions:
1. If we do the Discovery Cove dolphin package we get a free Seaworld ticket anyway, do I even need the fun card or passport?
2. And what kind of Seaworld admission do they give you with the dolphin swim?

3. ALso, if I go with the Passport to get free parking and unlimited SeaWorld visits with discounts on dining, tours, etc, do I need to purchase two of them?

Couldnt I just buy the Passport for myself and then get a funcard for my daughter? Thus saving $30? Since she would not need parking etc. Or does she need the more expensive passport? Or can I get away with just purchasing her the fun card for $67?

What do you think? Awaiting any feedback, thoughts,..

thanks, dee:cool1:

I am a little surprised that no one has answered my questions, maybe I should just call up Seaworld? I usually depend on the board members for help, but this time, wow, I have come up empty

I am a little bit disappointed.......

I'll do my best to help you. I actually just called Discovery Cove with a somewhat similar question about admission.

1/2. You do get a free ticket to Seaworld, which is a seven day ticket that must be used within a seven day time frame around your DC visit. If you buy an AP and don't need the ticket, you can get $30.00 off the admission price to DC. The admissions are not transferable to other people to use.

3. As far as the discounts go, I think you would only need the one to get the free parking and the discounts on food/merchandise (presumably you would be the one purchasing these things) I am not sure about the discounts on the tours. I would think if you were the one booking it, you would get the discount for you and your daughter but I am not 100% sure on that point.

Have a great trip. We just went to SeaWorld for the first time last week and loved it. Going back next month and doing Discovery Cove in October. I can't wait! :goodvibes

also important to note:

Fun Card is for the CALENDAR YEAR, passport is good for one year from purchase.

I ended up buying the Passport for our trip in June. We saved 10 percent on the tours, I was told I would save 10 percent on all food, and we got 25 dollars off our Cabana at Aquatica. I have a Passport only, and the rest of the family is just taging along with the discounts. HTH! Kate

wow, thanks for the replies! So the first thing I would do would be to buy the AP for Seaworld, just for myself, then I would book the Discovery Cove adventure, and I would save the $30 on admission, I would then buy the FunCard for my daughter, she doesnt need the discounts.

Sounds great to me! thanks to all! Dee
