So we're planning on our "once in a lifetime" trip to WDW (prolly will be considering the trip will cost same as buying a new car), and I wanted to take 1 of those days to go to SeaWold! (1st Feb 2015)

I'm a massive fan of otters, they're just so darn cute, and pretty much the real reason I even wanted to go to SeaWorld is to see them, but they've closed their show until Spring next year! :worried:

Does anyone who's ever been there before know if there is any other way we can see them? :hyper:

Never mind - I found the "up close" tour! Yay!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

On a side note, Im really excited, but worried about how to manage just 1 day in SeaWorld!

  • There's just 2 adults (no children)
  • The sea lion / otter tour is a must do (and booked!)
  • Super keen on Shamu's show also (just got reserved seating for that)
  • Only really have 2 rides avaliable (not a keen on wet rides, or super thrill ones) - so not sure if the front of line access would be worth the money given we might not even go on rides? Would this also nullify the $60 on photokey given those are all ride ones?

If we added the behind-the-scenes tour also would we really just not be able to enjoy the day from adding too many things?

The rumor is currently that the sea lion show should soft open around Valentines day. Fingers crossed.

You have picked a cute tour. its amazing getting to pet an otter. I loved my tour. you will get some priceless pictures there

As for photo key you would loose most of the photo options by not doing the big thrill rides. However several photo ops are still available. When you first enter the park with the light house in the back, the penguin wall, the 50th sign at the front, and you might find several surprise photographers around the park. So really have to determine if that's worth it for you. They take 3 - 5 pictures in each spot

Have a great time

Behind the scenes tour is so cool. You get to pet a shark and a penguin and visit the rescue areas. Its very educational and lots of fun. When you start doing all these tours I would really recommend a second day if possible so you can fully enjoy

Awesome, thank you so much for that info!

I didn't know about the other areas so will probably add the PhotoKey for those ones - thought it was limited to rides only.

We're a big fan of the photography services in theme parks, I mean if you're spending the money on a vacation why not spend a little more for some priceless photos! :D

I'll have to look into making myself a TouringPlan for SeaWorld to see if we can do the shows / rides we want and the tour (and if there's any remaining time for the behind-the-scenes one, it sounds amazing) but really don't have any availability to extend the trip more than it has been - though I wish I could!

Wild Days weekends should be going on when you are there. Last year Jack Hanna and Julie Scardina each had a weekend there.

You can always get your photos taken in the park and then when you are leaving go to the photo desk and see what they took. See if you like quality and the amount of pictures you got and then you can buy your photo key pass there and get all your pictures uploaded that was taken during the day. Hope that makes since.

Wild Days schedule and details are supposed to be released tomorrow so stay tuned and lets see what exciting weekends will be offered
