We will be going to WDW the first week in Feb. with 2 DS (ages 7 and 4). We have only 3 days to attend any parks. We are going to MK and DHS, but the third day is undecided between Seaworld and Animal Kingdom. We have never been to Animal Kingdom, but both my husband and I really enjoyed Seaworld when we were there a few years ago. What are your thoughts?

I have not been to Sea World, so it probably isn't fair for me to answer, however, I will tell you that Animal Kingdom is great. You may find it easier to go there since you will be there anyway.

They have a wonderful character breakfast at Tusker House. We went to this before the park opened. The food was delicious & so much to chose from. It is fairly inexpensive too. It was great being there before the park opened. When we finished breakfast, we went right outside & stood by the rope for rope drop into the safari.

Rafiki's planet watch is a lot of fun. So much to do there. Also, look for Devine. She is usually on the trail between Africa & Asia.

I also love the parade at Animal Kingdom. Infact, it is my favorite in Walt Disney World!

Having said all that. I think the next time we go, we will definately hit Sea World since we haven't done that before. However, I don't think you will be disappointed with Animal Kingdom!

Good luck!

Lists are always good! I would probably choose Animal Kingdom, but it depends on what you are looking for.

Sea World
-multiple shows that showcase live animals
-dolphin feeding ($7) that allows interaction
-stingray touch tank
-free beer for adults at the Hospitality House (while it is still open)
-two bigger thrill rides, and another on the way
-Shamu's Happy Harbour offers a lot for smaller kids
-Wild Arctic is an excellent themed exhibit

Animal Kingdom
-amazing amazing themed areas, lush vegetation
-the Safari ride is fun for the family, and a longer ride than most attractions
-Disney characters to meet!
-Many food options and they offer different flavors
-colorful parade
-Bone Yard and other child friendly play areas
-animal exhibits are built into the environment of the park and allow a leisurely (exploratory) pace
-more education opportunities from what I have seen
-shows that feature Disney characters, great choreography and energy
-varied ride experiences, but not all small-child friendly

I will be the rare one so far that puts in for SW. They have better shows, better rides, and a better atomosphere in my opinion. To me Animal Kingdom is just a very hot park that has so litttle to do everything is crowded.

I prefer Sea World,AK is my least favorite Disney park but is somewhat growing on me!But since you haven't been to AK,then I would suggest going there,it's definitely worth doing!

In my opinion SW is more "hands on". There is more at SW for my DD to DO. The kids area is sized just for kids. She loves the walk around characters, the shows and feeding the animals.

I would suggest Sea World since you had a good time when you visited but since you haven't been to AK yet, go there and check it out.

I would say Animal Kingdom, though I like both a lot. There are plenty of things to recommend both.

I went to both parks this October. My choice would be Animal Kingdom. However, I did have a wonderful time at Sea World. Basically, it depends on what you enjoy.

My biggest issue with Animal Kingdom, is that everytime I have been, it is so HOT. :scared: I think it is the "rain forest" effect. So, since you are going in Feb, it would probably be a good time for you to experience AK. Save Sea World for the warmer months - I don't think that all of their night time shows run in the winter anyway.

If you do go to AK, don't miss the Nemo Musical. It was worth the trip for me.

Moneywise it makes more sense to do AK.

Seaworld is nice crowdwise as compared to the other parks. We think of it as a nice break. We do it because it's free for military.

We loved both, they're very different.

I haven't been to SW yet (plan to go in March) but I really didn't like AK last time I went. We went to Disney last January with my them 3 1/2 year old. There just wasn't much to do there I didn't feel like. And in AK's defense...maybe we were just worn out from too many days in the parks. But we did the character breakfast and that was my least favorite of character meals. I liked the characters there but the buffet seemed dirty and not that great. The animal parade was awesome and that was the highlight of the day. The safari ride was good too, but we had a LONG wait even in the fast pass line. AND, I was very dissapointed with the rides there. We couldn't do hardly any with our 3 1/2 in the carnival area except the ones that go round and round and are pretty boring. Just my opinion. Of course, since I can't compare it to SW, I might not be much help.
Good luck!

We have been to both parks, but most recently was a visit to SW. As a matter of fact, we spent 2 days there and loved it. AK is ok, and there are some amazing and beautiful things to see, but, imho, nothing compares the feeding those dolphins. We spent 9 days "doing" Orlando last spring and one of the things my girls (then 9, 11, 15) still talk alot about are those dolphins. When we return in a couple of years, we will not only return to SW, but will probably go to Discovery Cove as well.

In addition to all that, I think AK is way more expensive, the crowds are huge like at all Disney parks and as another poster said, it is HOT. Again, just my opinon so no flaming, we took the drive to Busch Gardens rather than going to AK, and would do it again.

Whichever you choose, just make sure you plan well so your day will be all that you expect it to be.
