Is Seaworld as insane as WDW around Christmas? And are they open on Christmas day? (Sorry if this has been posted before -- I tried to do a search but the search feature was not working).

Sea World is open 365 days a year, including Christmas. I went to Sea World a few days after Christmas last year and the park was packed! Cars were parked all the way up to the entrance!

Sea World is never as insane as WDW! LOL The commando types become pussycats at Sea World. <VBG> There just aren't the long waits for as many things at Sea World so it is a much more relaxed atmoshere. People are actually nice to each other most of the time. <g> The park is open Christmas Day. I have never gone on the actual day so don't know how it effects the size of the crowd.

That said the crowds are large and you do have full sidewalks of people getting from show to showduring Christmas week. . You do need to get to the stadiums early and get your seats. Shows would be full a couple hours before sceduled time last year on the 28th of December. There will be more people trying to feed/touch the dolphins etc. It can still be a great day and we still had a blast even with the crowds. It was also a pretty cool day so we Floridians were freezing.

My favorite park to go to on Christmas, though is Busch Gardens. It has always been very relaxing. We get reservations at the Colony House 3rd floor restaurant and have a sit down traditional family Christmas meal. The pianist plays all the Christmas songs while you dine and you can watch the beautiful girraffes out the windows.

Sorry, thread hyjack, but we are planning on Christmas Day at Busch Gardens this year. I assume that if we get there at opening, it wouldn't be too crowded for the first few hours??

Also, please tell me about Colony House for dinner? Do they offer a traditional meal and can I book this ahead or only on that day?

Sounds like a great way to spend Christmas day.

Actually it wasn't really crowded on any Christmas that we have gone. I mean there are quite a few people there but not like Disney Parks and not even like at Sea World. I guess because the park is so big you don't feel crowded when there. Parking takes time because of where the park is located and the way they have parking set up. Lines for coasters can be longm but no worse than a weekend day in the summer.
The Colony House is actually a 4 or 5 star restaurant and they have a full menu or you can order a family style meal. You have to go to the restaurant and get your name on the list. We usually wait longer because we ask for a window table. Not sure if there are menus on line for BG anyone know?

Thanks for the info. we walked by the Colony house last year but didn't go in . It was Dec 26 and BGT was crowded!!!
We will check it out this year for sure.

We went sometime between Christmas and New Years. We love Seaworld, but I was miserable. We waited in line for Barbeque for almost an hour. We had planned on staying all day, but by 4pm I was insane and said let's go to MGM. It was much less crowded and more organized. (By the way, we were sent across the street to park). I'll never try it again.
