Seaworld Annual pass auestion

This might be a stupid questions but from Canada and with the way the low dollar is right now, planning to take advantage of the BOGO annual pass discount for seaworld and Aquatica. My question is does the annual pass activate on the day you purchase it or does it only activate on the day you go through one of the parks. We're not planning to go till July of 2016. Another questions is there an expiry date on the annual pass? Of when you have to activate or use it? Or can you hold onto it and use it for whenever in the future say 2017 or 2018.

For some reason, the offer details on the purchase page don't list the specifics this year.

On last year's sale, it specifically noted that you had one year from date of purchase to activate the pass, then it was valid for one year from date of activation.

I hear ya on the Canadian dollar. Our trips have been painfully more expensive over the last year.

I purchased them last night and it specifically says that the evoucher expires 1 year from today. It does not specifically say when it starts, but I'm assuming it's when you redeem the voucher and use the pass to enter the park (fingers crossed).
