SeaWorld and Universal raising prices

Gee, what a surprise.

Let's face it. When one organization raises it's prices. the other will follow suit. It's just a common business practice.

Disney and Universal raised their prices to $79.00 in August and now SeaWorld raised it's prices to $78.95.

Strangely, I just bought a 2 year SeaWorld annual pass for $149.95 ($75.00/year). This includes parking! While I'm a Florida resident, the web site make no mention of being a Florida resident to get these rates. I think SeaWorld's ticket prices are a little strange.

Not surprising. But at least Sea World and Universal tries to give you ways to get a cheaper ticket, Disney doesn't even bother.:goodvibes Well they are offering a weekday ticket that's something.

I think most people forget how much more Disney has to offer than SeaWorld or Universal.

Try spending an entire week's vacation at SeaWorld or Universal and you'll go bonkers. Those parks don't have enough to offer to eat up a week. However, a week isn't enough to do all the Disney Parks. Isn't that in itself worth more?

We live here also, and have this same pass. This isn't a florida pass anyone can buy this one. My parents that live in North Carolina also have this pass. Only fl rates at Sea World is the Fun Card where you pay for a day and come back all year. But with that ticket you have to pay for parking and don't get any discounts. Even out of state visitors can get the adults at kids prices ticket also.

Despite their raising of prices, Universal and Sea World are offering good deals.

I looked at Universal and they are offering a two day pass Florida residents ticket to their parks for a really good deal. (You have to have a Florida license or ID to get it) But at least they are doing something for the Floridians.

So I'm considering spending money at Universal instead of Disney. Because in reality Disney is much more expensive.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've been putting off buying our tickets for both Sea World and Universal next month, but this will definitely get my butt in gear - FINALLY!

I'm off to buy now...thanks again! :thumbsup2

The one I was looking at was for Floridians only but the regular tickets set they are selling are not bad either.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this! I just ordered both our Sea World and Universal tix. I always use Dreams for Universal although they have stopped taking orders at the moment so I had to go to Universal directly.

I spent a week at Universal with my wife this past May. We had a great time and would do it again.

We also love Disney and spent a week there on the same trip.

I think sometimes a persons love of Disney blinds them to all the other cool things out there.

No question that your statement is factual. There is a lot out there but I can't see spending an entire week at Universal. Maybe if you combine Universal, SeaWorld and a water park (Wet N Wild or Aquatica or both) then you can spend a week in the Orlando area without ever going to Disney.

I think Sea World waited for the Blackstone deal to be finalized before raising the ticket prices. You're right...once one of the three do it, the others follow suit.

I'll be interested to see what's around the corner for the tickets and AP's at Sea World and Universal since Blackstone owns 100% of Busch and 50% of Universal Orlando. I think there will be a joint AP option available sometime next year. We'll see though.

i just bought Seaworld and Busch expires 14 days after first use ticket, for next year, for $90+tax, which i think is a great price
