Ohhh my Gosh, it's FRIDAY, AND tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I'm stuck at work until 2 today, but we're slow and aren't really doing a whole heck of a lot around here, so I'm updating!
Anyhoot, last night Matt and I went to see Pacific Northwest Ballet's "The Nutcracker." It was fantastic as always! This version of The Nutracker is special because it was co-created by Maurice Sendak, the author of Where the Wild Things Are. Matt and I are big fans of the book (it was Matt's favorite book when he was a little kid), and we loved the movie, and this version of The Nutcracker is stunning. The set design is absolutely beautiful and unique and the performers are just as wonderful.
Before the show, Matt bought a cupcake (from the infamous Trophy Cupcakes, and also my favorite cupcake place EVER) and it had a little ballerina on it. It made me laugh that once buying it, he immediately gave me the ballerina so he could eat his cupcake with no ballerina on it.
This kind of gives you an idea as to what the Nutcracker looks like according to Maurice Sendak:
And the screen before the show began!
Anyway, it was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit! We also had an amazing dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Bizzarro. They were actually featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives at one point, which was exciting for them to get exposure. Anyway, they have the BEST Italian food and their handmade pasta is to die for.
Onto Day 11! This one I had to get a little creative for with my Paint skills..
Day 11: A picture of the thing you wish you could change about the parks
So, as you can see, we have a map here with the route that I have to take every time I go to Disney World. It's a LONG flight! And long flights, well, as you can see on the map, they equal a sad frownie face.
If you couldn't tell, I wish Disney World was a little closer to Seattle. Now, I KNOW I'm close to Disneyland, but it's not the same! I miss the quick flight when I lived in Boston.. and it saved us some money, too!
