Seating Requests

Sorry I searched this board and also googled but couldn't find any info.

How/When do I request seating preferences? For example, I have Tony's ADRs at 2:35 the same day as FoF @3pm and I'd like to be on the patio. I 100% understand requests may not be honored and that I will still want to eat at Tony's regardless.

Do people recommend calling while I'm there or at the podium only?

You can call Disney's Dining and ask if they can mark it on your reservation as a request, and they will also recommend you say something at the podium when you check in. We requested a window seat at Ohana, and unfortunately didn't get it, but it is worth a shot. Just make sure you speak up.

As far as I know you cannot have requested noted on your ADRs prior to check-in. You'll have to make the request at check-in, but as you noted, they may not be able to honor it. More often than not, reports indicate that guests are told that they have to take the next available table or forfeit the ADR.
