Seating requests in restaurants?

Hi all!!

Just wondering what is the best way to request seating, for example by the tank in coral reef or by a window etc...
Do you just request it when you check in at the podium? Or should I be requesting it further in advance?

Also, just wondering about letting them know your celebrating... Again just let them know at the start of the meal?

Omg only 3 days to go ahhh!!

seating request is when you check in at the podium - but there are no guarantees of any specific seating...

regarding celebrations - that should have been on each dining reservation - when you reserve online, you are asked if you are celebrating anything.
and then you again should mention it when you check in at the podium.

if you didn't put it on your dining reservation, i assume you can just tell them when you check in at the podium.

I'd advise checking in as early as you can, even 30mins before your ADR time, if you have a seating request as that gives the CMs time to arrange it.
You'll still eat about the same time you would expect to.

Hopefully if I mention it when I check in we might get lucky as it would be such a nice surprise that mum wouldn't be expecting.
Is there anything I could do in the mean time or just leave it till be arrive?

at one they had stuff on the table that said happy birthday and at another we got a free cupcake...but that was it...at the other 12 locations, nothing happened at all...
so i wouldn't expect much if i were you...
tell them when you check in at the podium and see what happens...

you can also order a cake for money of you like...

- Specialty celebration cakes are available for an additional charge and should be ordered 48 hours in advance by calling the Cake Hotline at (407) 827-2253. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.​

Yea I understand this but you know better to get a little extra magic than none at all
I thought about the cake but decided it would be too large for just the two off us but I have booked the chocolate slipper for the night we are in CRT

We asked at the podium for Coral reef we told than it was our anniversary and that we would like a tank side table ( amazing) they told us it would be over an hour wait, so we replied ok we will wait,
Our table was ready with in 10 mins, we have done this 5 times now and never waited the time estimated" we have always been willing to wait in case it was that long" but I do think they say it sometimes to put you off waiting for it.

If you call up they will note it before you arrive, also you can go back into your ADRs and have it added, if your going to hook anymore of them there is a special box that says celebrations just click it and it will ask what type you them pop in your info very simple

at ohana last november, I had notified (at time of booking) that it was my birthday.
I had entered "dad's 41st birthday" as the "celebration title" ... we had a nice CM come to the table, put a candle on DS's dessert, and light it, she almost began singing "happy birthday to you" when I told her that it was my birthday ... she forgot about the song, apologised and we laughed about it with the poor CM who just realised that 41st birthday was a bit ahead of schedule for that 5 year old she had in front of her.

This mistake was probably even better than the actual birthday pixie dust the CM intended to sprinkle on us. We had such a good laugh that I think it's the first time ever I left a 25% tip (I think at first she expected us to be mad at her, but in the end that was really cute)
