Just a simple question:

If you had a party of five on a previous DCL cruise, was your group seated alone or at a table with others?

We very much want to be by ourselves at dinner and I am curious as to the chances of this seating arrangement being made without having to request a change after boarding.

If you can provide your experience, I would appreciate it!

Hi!
We are a family of 5 and have been on two cruises. Both times we requested to be seated alone and we were. We requested this when we booked the cruise. We were at a table for six both times. I will continue to request to be alone on our future cruises also. Dinner time is important to us. We like to just be a family. We are not antisocial, we just enjoy our dinner alone.

We are family of 5 and each of our 3 DCL cruises, we were put with another family...twice with a couple and once with a family of 3. We did not make any special requests as my husband enjoys the extra company. On our RCCL cruise last year, we did not get seated with anyone else and we didn't make any requests either...maybe their limit is 5 and the Mariner is also a bigger ship.

We are a family of 5 also. On our first DCL cruise we didn't make any special requests and were seated at a table for 8 with another couple and their child.

Just tell your agent to request a table by yourselves and upon boarding go to Dining Changes and make sure that you have one. Two cruises they listened and put us by ourselves (we were a party of 3 and a party of 4) and this last time I went to check at dining changes and we were at a table for 8....I again stressed that we did not want to share our dining table with strangers and they moved us right away.
