seating card etiquette question

I have scoured "The Knot" and can't find an answer to this. For the seating place cards, should they be hand written or is it alright to do them on the computer? I bought ones that can be fed into the printer but my fiancee thought maybe it would be better to do it by hand. Any advice?

I am getting married in 10 days!!

Thanks!
Jes

I'm pretty sure it is OK to use the computer. I would use a nice script font.

I work for a catering company and I can tell you that almost all the cards we get come printed off a computer. Very rarely do we see handwritten setting cards anymore. I don't know what the proper etiquette for them buts thats how we get them. Hope that helps.

I'm sure either is fine - your preference and with 10 days to go I'd say let the computer write them!! unless you have time and not that many to do! I have 48 days til our wedding and only 32 to write out so I will do it by hand BUT I did consider having a company print them for me - just for the amount I have, it doesn't really pay.

best of luck and congrats in advance!! :cheer2:

with the tech world we live in now. . . It's A-Ok for you to use the computer, you get uniformity and can dazzle it up any way you wish. With only 10 days left, this is the quick and easy way out.

Congrats!!

Thanks for all your replies. I am definitely going to use the computer. I wasn't really a matter of time (and we have about 100 guests) but I thought it would be easier. I downloaded a template from the company's website and it already had a nice script font chosen. I changed the color to match the wedding (navy!) and I think on the screen it looks nice. I haven't tried to print any out.

Thanks again,
Jes

Just make sure you do a test run before printing everything out - Some paper don't really hold printer ink very well. If this is so, you might only want to print a page out at a time.

So Excited!

We printed ours off the computer. My handwriting is terrible, so they looked a lot nicer that way.

DH actually downloaded the Walt Disney font to use for our seating cards, it was a nice Disney touch :)
