So my TP had me going to HS on 11/9 the same day its supposed to debut. Can anyone fill me in on what is to be expected in the park that day? anything i should look for while im there?

Hey I will be there too with my family on that exact date! It is our last day and I am not sure we are going to last till the nighttime stuff. Will have to wait and see. I am just fingers crossed none of the big rides are shut down because apparently they have been a lot. My son is dying to ride TOT

I'm really anxious to learn more about the new events
With it being new it's so hard to guess on anything about it (JBJB is of course a known element but the rest is new)
I wonder, is it really going to all end on 12/31?

The new offerings at DHS while be previewed by DHS CMs only during a sneak peek on Nov. 4, starting at 9 p.m. The private event will include a look at the new “Sunset Seasons Greetings” and the enhanced “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.” Cast will finish the night with an exclusive viewing of “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” show.
I'd say a .000001% chance they change the ride in any way whatsoever.
You may be a little high. If the ToT ride is being altered, I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

So, are there any clues/guesses about times for any of the events/shows? Or is it just a continual thing, like they did with Osborne Lights? Or do we need to wait till the 4th to learn more?
I'm trying to decide if we need to move our flights up and catch this on the 29th.
I don't think there's any way we can get over there to see anything on either the 30th or 31st, we'll be at MK and Epcot on those days. It's our first time for NYE and I'm just thinking, the crowds are heavy and we'd need to be in the parks before 6:00 both nights (well before) and I can't imagine there's much of anything to see at HS before dark, is there?
And it won't be going on the 1st, right? (MDE shows through 12/31)

I was going to start a new post, but for the moment, I’m going to latch onto this one. With the holiday preview for cast members starting November 4, does anyone know if decorations will be up around the park on November 4 (or earlier?). Meaning, when does the tree go up at the Studios? Similarly, I was wondering if anyone knew the start dates for decorations going up at AK and MK. We’re here through this upcoming Saturday and would make a special trip to each park that day to see decorations if they were up (even if there weren’t Christmas activities). (I know Epcot won’t begin until after Food and Wine ends.)

I don't know for sure, but Disney refers to it as "moments" and "experience" and not a show. They also don't list a duration time as they do for the other night time shows. My guess is that it's continual but may or may not be non stop, similar to the projections on the tree at AK.

Probably

From what I've read, everything Christmas related is best seen at night. Sunset Seasons Greetings begins at 6:30

The internal calendar is showing the same thing, but you know how that goes sometimes.[/QUOTE]

Holiday decor at Hollywood Studios will be up by Nov. 3rd.

Same for MK, Nov 3rd. Nothing showing up for Epcot or AK.

I think it will just be continual little shows, probably every 15 minutes or so, and lasting only a couple of minutes each. They do something similar on it's a small world at Disneyland for the holidays. They project a little musical show onto the facade every so often, several times a night. It is always the same though I believe, where this is going to rotate different little stories.

MK will decorate overnight as soon as they close from the last Halloween party. Folks leaving that will see Halloween and folks walking in the next morning will see Christmas. It's magic

Thanks! It does sound like something similar to the tree of life shows. And sounds like something I know we'd, well me at least, would really want to see
I'm going to stick with there is no way we can do both HS and either Epcot or MK on the same night. If we want to do the stuff at HS, we'll have to come in earlier on Friday the 29th. Our flight currently lands at 8:15 and even if it's on time (and with Southwest they typically are) and we took Uber right to the park (which we would do) we'd be pressed to see much, with HS closing at 10:00. The only question remains is, will it be worth the change to get there? I guess I need to wait till reviews come out to know for sure.

Agreed--it's super cool. Here's a time-lapse video (in case anyone hasn't seen it yet).

We have enjoyed HS on NYE before. Of course, the Osborne lights were a big part of that. We will arrive on the 30th and visit HS on the 31st before hopping over to MK for the NYE extravaganza. We have the dessert party booked for NYE fireworks. We have hopped on NYE every year without any trouble, usually ending at Epcot but decided to do the MK NYE Dessert Party this year.
