ok, here is a question i forgot to ask before... what do you do if you have a wheelchairs with you on the new seas ride, but can transfer. I don't want to wait for a wheelchair car and take it up, especially given that i can transfer very very easily (my biggest problem is pain and muscle weakness, so i can get up easily)

i know two people can fit in a clam and i dont want to ride alone (and make my mother ride alone), so is there a way to get my chair from the beginning to the end of the ride (since you exit in a different place)? if not, i will just leave my chair at the exit to the seas pavilion and walk around, but it would be nice if there was a way for me to get my chair again after riding, so i can go to turtle talk with crush and be able to sit in it! i am confused.

Just follow the disability guide book for each park. They will ask you when you get to the front if you can transfer. Then they will move your chair.

okey... i wasnt sure if it was like pirates, where you cant leave your chair where to get on the ride, cause you exit in a different building...

The queue takes you round and round and round and round (so you do want your wheelchair with you in the queue - we felt like we would never get to the boarding area.
Even though it doesn't look like it, the loading area and the unloading area are not really that far apart.
I would probably just use the wheelchair car. The loading is very simple and quick. You will have to wait for the wheelchair car to come around, but it seats one person in a wheelchair and one person sitting in the ride car on the ride seat. You will be able to see anyone else waiting for the wheelchair clamshell - they wait just beyond where the queue gets to the boarding area.

I used the accessible clam (now how many times a day do you get to say that? ) last time we went because transfers were just hurting way too much, and shortened our time in the parks. It was a nice easy load, with a very cool mechanism. If, however, you choose to transfer, they have a little walkway to the side, down which they will take your chair.

Oh, slight OT here, but still relevant: K, can I recommend that you keep your chair with you in the queue for pirates, rather than transferring to one of their chairs? I tried going in one of their chairs when I was there; the queue was very short and I started out with plenty of spoons, but I was in agony by the time I got back to my own chair. The problem is, they put all the footplates on their transfer chairs so high that you have your knees around your ears. This put a lot of stress on my ankles and had them held at a steep angle, so I was nearly crying when I got back to my own wheels. The next time I rode it (and the time after that, and the one after that, and the next one too) I kept my chair with me, and could actually enjoy the ride.

We were at the world last week mom tansfered for rides at the beginning of our trip which we do go on the clammobiles. They slowed the ride to an almost stop. Mom got on & the end they did the same - a CM brought her WC to another area & she was able to walk holding on to us.

at pirates there was little line so mom walked it was fine we walked slow people just went around us. We did us one of there WC at the end to get her to her WC
