I'm new here and absolutely thrilled to have found this slice of heaven. I had no idea so many other people were as crazy about everything Disney as I am. It's funny how just a few posts here can make your worries just melt away!
Hopefully you won't mind if I live vicariously through your trip reports - that is until I can plan my next trip (which will be the first for my son!)
So, the reason for this post is that I'm trying to find the author of some trip reports I found on the web several years ago. If I had to guess, these trip reports could be nearly 10-years-old by now. It were these reports that officially stoked my fascination on planning (and day dreaming about) Disney trips. (Please forgive my lack of acronyms, I'm not sure what they are quite yet. I promise, I'll read through a moderator thread and familiarize myself!) Unfortunately, the hosting site for the page that had these reports was deactivated a few years ago. Since then I've been Googling to try and find them. You see, I used these trip reports as a type of therapy - surely some of you can relate! Whenever I needed a pick-me-up, I would read the reports and then instantly begin pining over the next time I can plan my own trip. Okay, so I am requesting your help in finding these trip reports. There were several reports published over a series of years. The following are the facts I can remember:
*The author's name was "Carol" and her husband's name was "Robert"
*The name of the original hosting website was boomspeed.com
*They had two young boys who usually accompanied them on trips (I believe one year they also took either a nephew or one of the boys' friends; if I remember correctly, one of the boys went by the name of "Jer")
*Their resort of choice was the Polynesian
*Her username at boomspeed may have been something close to "PolynesianGirl"
*They are from Connecticut (possibly Hartford area)
*They would drive from CT to NYC and stay in a hotel the night before. They would fly from NYC to Orlando
*Robert owns a sporting goods shop
Carol has an especially vivid and lively writing style. I especialy loved her restaurant reviews.
I've spent the past two weeks searching these boards for her, which is why I'm now prompted to post this thread. Does any of this sound familiar?
I'd love to find those trip reports again. Of course, over the past two weeks I've discovered how magnificent everyone else's reports are too - particularly, I'm looking quite forward to reading more about MagicMomentsMom's Christmas vacation with GenevaClaire. What a touching story! Many other really fun TR's for me to read too, it's just that I have a special place for Carol's TR's (those were the first reports I ever read!)
