Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone here has had seamless gutters installed recently. We just got an estimate for 5" aluminum seamless gutters and the cost was $7.00 per linear foot, not including downspouts.

This is quite a bit more than I anticipated. Any thoughts??

Thanks guys! Kerry

We had seamless gutters installed in late spring 2006. The bid was for the job, so it's not clear what the price per foot was. Best I can tell, estimating the perimeter of our house, we may have paid $10 per foot just for the gutters (not downspouts). We probably paid more. I'm not proud - we were probably overcharged....

One bid wrote in the contract they would pitch the gutters using a level. I wish I had insisted on that with the company we actually used.

I would make them specify the gauge of the gutters (example, 0.032).

We used large downspouts (3 by 4 inch?), and I'm glad for that.

A neighbor said she had heard good reports from going with Home Depot.

Thanks so much for the feedback Rigel. This company did specify .032 gauge aluminum, but 2 x 3 downspouts, not 3 x 4. Although we thought our first estimate was a bit high, we were able to get a second estimate from a different company yesterday and their quote was $600.00 even higher!!

Again, thanks for the reply.

We just had ours done a month ago and we got the .032 gauge
and the 3x4 downspouts ,,(those are a must have) ,, we paid like
2100 for everything. Our home is over 70 feet long and its a 2 story.

Make sure they use flashing on it and get it in writing too.

Im at the office now but when I get home I'll get the exact measurments and edit this post for you.

We live in Minnesota.
