Couldn't find much info on the boards about this excursion. What do people think? Ok for kids, nice reef, good visibility in the water?

I took this excursion about 2 years ago. The reef was very pretty and there were a fair number of fish, far more than the CC snorkeling area. The boat ride was OK and there was shade and drinks available.

The day I went out the boat was rolling a bit when moored, but only 2 people(grownups) got sick. It was worth the money, but does take up several hours of precious CC time.

I don't know how old your children are, but if the are under 10, you might want to bring "swim goggles" if they are good swimmers but have never snorkeled before. I know my neices and nephews were not able to seal a mask and breath through a snorkel well until about middle school. They loved to hold their breath and look at the fish with the goggles, though :sunny: :sunny: . No tears, no coughing.

We did this last summer with DS (17) & DS (10). It was a very nice area, nice shallow reef, not tons of fish, but the water was very clear and the fish we saw were good size and very close to us. A barracuda swam right under us. We had some rough water and stormy skies the day we went, a few people looked a little green on the way out, but once we got anchored and in the water, all was fine.

We did this on our cruise in October 2003....myself and my 15 year old brother. We really enjoyed it! I brought an underwater camera and got some great pictures! We saw a stingray and lots of fish!
