What are some casual seafood resturaunts that serve lunch at HHI? We've enjoyed Salty Dog, Sea Shack, and Kenny Bs. Most seafood places that we know of only serve dinner or seem too formal (read "expensive"). Any suggestions?

I was watching Rachel Ray's $40 a day on Hilton Head Island and there was a small local place that was inexpensive and the fish was fresh caught that day. I'll try to look it up.

We like the Crazy Crab.

Thanks-you know I was wondering about Crazy Crab. Aren't there two locations on the Island? Are they both equally as good, or is one much better than the other?

I'll second the Crazy Crab as you go on the island and add what used to be the Boathouse II, forget the new name.

We've eaten at this Crazy Crab location maybe a dozen times. I only order one thing and that is the fried shrimp with fries, and colesaw. The fried shrimp are excellent - the best I've had since I was living in Texas and used to go for the all you care to eat dinner on Saturday nights in Riviera at some little place I can't remember the name of because it was like a million years ago. They serve hushpuppies also and they are sort of sweet with a hint of hot sauce. We love them. We ate there a couple of weeks ago and had a nice lunch on the outside looking over the marsh and an old shrimpboat named Ms Fudgy. this location is next to the museum - you can walk between them.

Thanks for starting this thread! My first trip is end of May. Can't wait to try these places!:wizard:

There are other thread's with more generalized HH restaurant suggestions, a basic search should give you several to chose from. HH has an abundance of reasonably priced great options. DVC and Marriott often garner a discount, restaurant.com has a few options and many have early bird menus that they often combine with the available 10% discount though this is not guaranteed. It really depends on what you want and them simply making a choice.

Thanks! Will do that search!:goodvibes

Try Fancy Q's if you like Sushi. The food is fantastic. The decor isn't much to look at, but the food, service and conversation with the owner more than make up for it! yum!

The Sea Shack is always great. Also Hudson's. The Boathouse II has been recently renovated and under new management (I believe) with a new menu - including sushi! I was last there in July and it was a welcome change.
