Has anyone tried this buffett? It's very reasonable, but I'm wondering why it is so much cheaper than the other dinner buffets?

Here are the food items:

Seafood Buffet
Friday
$18.95 adults/$8 children (ages 4 - 9)

Peel and Eat Shrimp, Oysters and Mussels
Beef Barley Soup
Vegetarian Seven Bean
Fried Clam Strips
Fried Shrimp
Crab Legs with Melted Butter
Baked Salmon with Dill Cream Sauce
Crawfish
Swedish Meatballs
Parsley Potatoes
Hushpuppies
Seafood Paella
Ratatouille
Scallops in Newburg Sauce
Assorted Dinner Rolls
Assorted Desserts
Full Salad Bar

It's so much cheaper than the other buffets because Shades of Green is operated by the Department of Defense, not by Walt Disney World - and it's possible visitors may be required to have military ID to be there.

Thanks for the quick response. Actually I called the restaurant and it is open to the general public. This may be worth checking into since it's close to the Polynesian.

it is about a 15 minute walk...if you drive, they charge for parking at SoG

Wow, really, they charge to park? I didn't know that. I wonder if I could take the bus there? We will be staying at the WL.

Thank you.

Shades of Green is not on the Disney bus system. It has its own bus shuttle from TTC - but then I am not sure if you have to be staying there to use the shuttle.

My father took us there when we had a couple of rooms at POFQ. I don't think he paid to park but he is a retired military officer and has a sticker on his car that lets him on military bases, so that may have something to do with it.

I would love to go back but uncertain whether we could go without him.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. As stated earlier I did call the restaurant and she did say that it is open to the public.

Yes, we have been to their buffet. It was pretty good. No Boma, Tusker House or Crystal Palace but decent. The resort is very nice. We did drive.
