I am taking my sisters kids to Sea World I saw they had private Cabanas for rent. Has anyone ever done this there ? What are they like ?
This is for the San Antonio location. They kinda look like what you put in your back yard to me LOL . Does anyone have any pics ? I feel like they shoudl at least have a fan or something for 299

We do rent these at The Great Wolf Lodge and find it worth it on the day of check out . But there I think we paid about 149 and it didnt have the free lunch with it but it did have the free drinks .

TIA

We've seen them in San Antonio (we were there over Easter weekend), but I didn't take any pictures of them, and unfortunately, I can't recall the specifics. But I thought I'd at least reply since no-one else had and let you know that we're considering one when we go back over Labor Day!

It does also include their version of fastpass for the rides in the park, which otherwise has to be purchased separately, but I'm not sure if it's the one-time or unlimited version. I'm pretty sure there was a table & chairs and also 1-2 lounge chairs. I don't recall whether there was a ceiling fan, but I doubt it!

I wonder about the meal vouchers because the cabana is for up to 6 people, and there's a meal voucher for "each person in your cabana", but even if there's just 4 of us, I'd certainly hope we'd still get the full 6 meal vouchers & 6 towels since we'd certainly have paid for them!

Post back if you decide to get it. Since it will be the very end of their waterpark season when we go back, I won't have any more useful information.

Thanks for the response, I was wondering the same thing about the vouchers and towels. I have not been able to get an answer about it for sure out of Sea World believe it or not .
Today they told me they would have someone call me back about it .

Last time we were in the water park we didnt see them or at least we dont think we did LOL

Does anyone know what the best location is for these things. I know there is one that is $299.00 and the others are $289.00 so there must be some kind of difference .

I think we are going to do it :scared1:

I do recall something about the locations... One of them clearly states near the lazy river in the description, and that's the one that appeals to us because we usually grab some lounge chairs in that area anyway.

Some of the others were around the wave pool - sort of up a level up some stairs at the end of the wave pool. (This is where we used to always get "our" spot years ago, and following the Typhoon Lagoon trend, they've now made that their paid cabana spot!) Side note rant - we were really p.o.'d to find that our usual spot at Typhoon Lagoon became one of their paid cabanas...

There were some others that were also up a level sort of at the side of the wave pool, but they were set back a bit, I'd say.

I also saw when I was checking that they're now offering a lounge chair with a sun umbrella and sunscreen that I believe was near the lazy river. Betcha anything that it's "our current spot"! I think it was $40, and there's no way that I'll pay that.

Sorry I don't have much more specific information, but I'd sure appreciate it if you post back if you do get more info and rent it yourself. And hopefully some other TX DIS posters will see this and reply before you go yourself!

ok so looks like its just you and I lol . I will let you know when I hear back from Sea World and also will take pics of location and what we get . My DH is not happy about the cost LOL

I really hope we get all 6 vouchers, I wonder if they keep the water and stuff filled all day like at the Great Wolf Lodge. I will let you know everything , maybe to much LOL

I have been googling for pics and location but I have not found anything helpful yet .

Wish me luck we are going to be there next week on the 7th and 8th . I knwo my Dh is not willing to do it for both days but I think I got him for at least 1 day

Hi! I am not sure if you have an account on facebook but I am a fan of the San Antonio Park Sea World and they answer questions on their fan page. You may want to check it out and add them if you are on FB.

Those cabana's are super expensive. We are going this summer but will not be getting one.

On our September 2007 trip to Sea World we rented the Cabanas at San Antonio SeaWorld.
Now, things might have changed and my memory might be fuzzy, but I remember it being around $300 and we got a cold lunch delivered to us (4 lunches, as they were four of us, sandwhiches, chips, cookies, i think?), 4 beach towels (still use the beach towels! Shamu ones), 4 T-shirts, and a priveledge pass so we can enter the water park at will. Also included 2 bottles of sunscreen - one for kids and one other.
The water was stocked and a guy came by occassionally to check on us so I am sure it would be restocked. We were driving back to Fort Worth later that afternoon so we packed up the waters and took them with us.
We were tucked in the back of the pack by the lazy river. I recall only being 4 cabanas and we were the only ones back there.
For us it was worth it with a toddler being able to get out of the sun and have a place to 'be'. I am a big fan of cabanas - got one of the $40 ones at Typhoon Lagoon (read trip report).
Here are the only pics I got so I hope they help.
Again , this is 3 year old info so it might have changed.

The rolled up towels, T-shirts and sunscreen on the table were our free ones.

Have fun!

I got a call back from Sea World today and this is what she said : )

They do give you all 6 vouchers for the lunch and all 6 towels
even if you only have 4 people .

They keep your mini fridge replenished all day long with Pepsi products ( I forgot to ask if there was diet soda)

You get 6 "front of the line" passes that are only good one time . This is where I was not sure if I understood right or not . She said that those passes were for the rides outside of the waterpark . Inside the water park you always go to the front of the line because of a wristband you wear.

It is $299.00 plus tax for the 4 that are under " the big waterslide"
$289.00 for the others that are scattered around the park .

Even if the park fills you are allowed into it

I left my notes at work so there maybe more that I am forgetting.

She did say that there was only 1 day out of the 3 that I asked about that had the special canbana left under that slide she kept talking about LOL
There are 4 there and only 1 left :scared1: That is NUTS they had 1 or 2 of the others left everyday that we are there .

I guess my Dh is the only DH thinking that is overpriced LOL Cause she calimed they sold them out almost every day in the summer

Thanks so much for sharing that information! :thumbsup2 I'm glad to hear you get all 6 lunches, ride passes, & towels even if there's only 4 in your group! That seems only fair since you're paying for it!

I'm really curious about having front of the line access within the waterpark, because I just can't picture how that could work. You can't exactly go up the exit of a waterslide like you can with a ride! :rolleyes1 But that would definitely factor into our decision to purchase a cabana!

I'm trying to think what the 4 special cabanas under the big slide could be! We were there Easter and there was a new slide still under construction at that time, so perhaps it's under that and we couldn't see it.

Please be sure and post back about your experience!

We were at Sea World the weekend before Memorial Day and saw the Cabanas. I wasn't too impressed, as they are essentially a picnic canopy with chairs underneath (granted, we don't have kids, so that's not a consideration). The water park was moderately crowded (never at capacity as far as I know, but it wasn't too hot, at least not for Texas), but we didn't see anyone in any of the Cabanas. I guess if you are going on a really crowded day, it is a good way to get away from the crowds and get a little shade (although there were a decent number of trees on the "island" in the middle of the Lazy River).

Also, we've been a few times in the past year (October, December, May, I think), and we have never waited in line for either of the coasters. We haven't done the main park water rides yet (waiting for a really hot day), but the coasters have never been crowded, so I don't know if you would even need front-of-line passes (summer may be a totally different story, though.)

So this is the real deal  This is what was reality and it was a little different then what I was told on the phone .

It was a case of water and they do not replenish it after that . We did not drink it all but that is what they gave us . No soda even though it is shown when you look on the net and I was told that more then once .
They DO NOT give you more vouchers for lunch then you have people . They do not give you thier version of the " fast pass" for anymore then the people you have there .

I told them I kinda felt like they were dishonest about what you pay for and what you get but that went no where with them .

It rained when we were there so maybe that was the reason it was not very crowded but we didnt need the cabana.

To clarify: Sea World in Orlando does not rent cabana's. The water park Aquatica is the one the rent's cabana's.

We rented one of the cabanas at Sea World San Antonio 3 times last year. I was about 7 months pregnant and had an 18 month old. It was the ONLY way I would agree to spending a day in the Texas heat!:rotfl: We are going back to Sea World next week and I am not bothering with it (even though I now have a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old). The prices went up from last year. They were high last year, but $300 seems like ALOT of $$ to spend on a cabana. You do get your towels, lunch and water/sodas though. Oh we also got sunscreen.:thumbsup2 There were 6 of us, so we did get all of the vouchers. I probably have some photos of our cabanas if you want to see more pictures.
