Sea World or Universal?

We will be in Tampa area for a wedding in June, going to spend 5 days over there and thought since were down there, lets spend a day or two in Orlando doing a non-Disney park. Our kids are 5 and 7 and while they have been to Disney 4 and 6 times each, never been to the others.

So what I am thinking is to spend the 4 or 5 nights on the beach, then drive to Orlando for a night or two before driving home.

What kinds of attraction do your kids enjoy? Universal/IOA have plenty of rides for all ages and SeaWorld has the animal shows. If you have the time, do SeaWorld and Universal...both are not to be missed.

They don't like big rides yet. My initial thought was to focus on one, and then do the other on our next trip. Thought about possibly doing Busch Gardens as well, maybe 2 days at wherever we can get the best deals.

I've been to both and even though Universal is different- it's kinda the same theming. If you want something different than Disney- Sea World would be. I love animals though so I thought it was great- and educational. (you dont get to enteract with dolphins, see killer whales, see walruses be funny, polar bears, etc. everyday.). I am not promoting SeaWorld. I love them both. Harry Potter is fun too. But I just think SeaWorld is a little different.

I really like both parks, but my vote goes to Sea World, if your kids don't do the big rides yet there will still be plenty to do at Sea World, I'm not to sure I could say that for Universal, I've still never managed to stay a full day there. But your kids might like IOA, there's a decent amount of rides for kids, its a fun park!

My vote is Seaworld (We love all the world class theme parks in Orlando, but this one is our favorite). Do note, though, that we are huge marine mammal fans, and that makes us a little biased.

While I think you could have a great time either way, I am also voting for SeaWorld. My kids love Universal, but they all enjoy the bigger rides. I'm the ride chicken of the family and I love SW. (Although I would return to Islands of Adventure just for Harry Potter and a butterbeer!)
