Sea World or Animal Kingom?

Does anyone have any thoughts as to which of these would be a better one day attraction for our 6 and 4 year old kids? We were at Sea World a couple of years ago and I think our 6 year old will remember some of it, but not our son. They did enjoy themselves last time but we were thinking AK might be a good alternative. We are already doing MK for a day and our kids love animals, both the land going and the sea faring kinds.

Added background, in case it matters, we are only spending two full days in Orlando before heading out on a 7 day eastern Carribean Disney cruise. The other alternative would be to do MK for two days, although we have already been once.

Any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My vote is for Sea World. I love it there. There is so much to do. Now, I am a big kid so I am going to list the things I enjoy first. You have Kraken, Journey To Atlantis, Shamu, the Sea Lion & Otter Show, and the simulator ride that takes you on a helicopter flight and then you come out of that and you are with all the polar bears and penguins and so forth (I can't remember the name of this ride, sorry!!) Actually, most of these are my kids favorites as well as petting the dolphins and the dolphin show.

We have done AK but in all honesty, there is only 3 or 4 things there we even enjoy doing. We would say that it is our least liked theme park in Orlando. Love Disney ver much but they just missed with me and this park. If you do decide to go there, you need to make sure you do Primevil Whirl, The Lion King Show, Tarzan Rocks (if it is still there), and It's Tough to be a Bug!. One mre thing for the kids would be the Safari. Done it once and that's enough for me.

Thats a tough one. If I were you, I would look at what rides and attractions your kids would like at each park and go to which ever park has the most for your family. Good Luck with your decision, I'm sure you will have a great time at either park.

my kids were very bored with sea world, but love animal kingdom. they were 7 and 3 at that time. the shows, animals, food, rides, parade, everything was better for them at animal kingdom

SeaWorld is one of my favorite parks, but in this case I would probably vote for Animal Kingdom due to the ages of your children. There is more of a sense of being 'with' the animals at Animal Kingdom rather than watching them as spectators. I'm not sure why, but I always get a more intimate feeling from Animal Kingdom.

Having said that, you certainly won't go wrong at SeaWorld. It's a beautiful park and the new Blue Horizons show is fabulous. We just took our 7, 9, and 12 year old boys to both parks last week and they had a blast at both. Even the Odyssea show (which we've seen a few times) held them captivated.

Isn't it nice to know you can't made a bad choice?

Animal Kingdom! We just didn't really enjoy Sea World that much. It was OK, but just doesn't have that Disney Magic!

I would vote for Sea World, Animal Kingdom just dosen't do anything for me. Also, my DD loves Sea World, just tonight she said she would skip AK if she could. There is only two things at AK that I love one the Safari ride, Tough to be a Bug.

We went to Florida to visit friends that moved down there. We went to Sea World twice, DD loves it so much. Also, had to hit DTD while there.

Ak...maybe the sea world in fla is way better than the one that was in Ohio but imo you can not compare it to ak,,,concrete or African village, concrete or Asian temples. tanks or beautifully designed habitats. the shows at sea world were interesting but nothing compared to the overall effect of Ak. we spent most of 2 days there ( and could have spent more...the ak cms are a wealth of knowledge about the animals. lion king is the best show on disney property ( cept cirque) imo. the parade is cute. landscaping defitting the countries , same with entertainment,,,,just so much more going for it.

This is a tough one. We have AP's to both Disney and Sea World and love both DAK and SW.

If your kids are really into animals, then DAK would most likely be the best, but if they are really into dolphins, etc. then Sea World would be best.

Would they rather see animal shows or go on rides? DAK has it on rides -killimjaro Safari, Kali River rapids, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl and the Dumbo knock off. Sea World has Journey to Atlantis, Kraken and The artic simulator ride.

Sea World has more shows and all are good and the new dolphin show "Blue Horizons" is great.

DAK has the best show FOLK, but only a couple of others ITTBAB, Tarzan Rocks, Flights of Wonder, Pocahontas.

We love to feed the rays and dolphins, it's very interactive.

I'm sure that you will have a great time in either place.

My kids are 3 years old (twins) and they have been to Sea World 6 times and AK once. We are going to Orlando again in 10 days and all they talk about is seeing the dolphins, penquins, pirates, sea lions. etc, again. They LOVE it there!

Have you looked at the websites of both places to see what they have to offer? We were thinking of going to Sea World with DD6 and DS4. When we looked at Sea World's website, we decided it isn't for them right now. They really enjoy rides and the few they have at SW weren't right for them - DS would not be tall enough for any of them. It also depends on what your kids really enjoy. My kids are really into African animals, safaris, etc. so AK is the park for us.

Animal Kingdom. There is so much more of a varied selection there, the chance to meet characters, great places to eat, and the shows are fantastic. Seaworld is so much less organized and chaotic.

I would say if you have a whole day, do Sea World. There are great shows (check out the mime before the clyde and seamore show, he's a hoot!). The coaster and journey to atlantis are great!! Plus the kids LOVE sitting in the splash zone for the Shamu show (and we do the day show and the night--make sure you get there early as they have a quiz that you take! It's hilarious!). Have fun!

Hi, fellow ohio'er! I was an aurora sea world pass holder every year till they closed.. I loved it but I must say Fla sea world BLEW it away. It's completely different.. you should check it out sometime

I would say Sea World. While hubby and I love AK we feel it still needs to be filled in a bit, it is a very short day.

Sea World is so wonderful, great shows/attractions. Good dinining options, characters there as well for photo opps. Sea World is one of our favorite parks of all time. Also, the kids can interact with the animals there, feeding the dolphins, petting the stingrays, feeding the sea lions. Lots of fun. Also, the childrens playground area is excellent.

We did both in March, and Sea World was our least favorite park while AK was #2 (did not do Epcot). I really cannot tell you why it was out least favorite. We had a good time there, but we loved AK.
