Sea World Marine Mammal Keeper Experience

We are going to Orlando next March and I was considering booking the above keeper experience for my 13 year old daughter as she is interested in working with animals. Has anyone done this and if so any tips etc they can give us. If I was to book this it would probably be on line and if anyone could help me with the American equivalent school year for her age I would be grateful. In the UK she has just started Year 9.

Thanks for your help. I see that you have stayed at CSR, when we go next year we are staying there for 9 nights. I have tried to find your trip reports but with no success, would love to know your thoughts on CSR.

Have not done it myself, but we did chip in and get it for my sister who turned 16 this year. She was in the 10th grade at the time. She went by herself, and to give you some background, she doesnt swim well, is petrified of sharks and hates the smell of seafood. I thought this was going to be a good way to get her interested in something she didnt like, and maybe ease her fears about the ocean...seeing that we lived in Florida.
She said the over all experience was a little boring, because there is a lot of lecture time, and a lot of video watching. But she did get to spend time with the animals, a good bit actually and that was the part that enthralled her. She was amazed at the size of the animlas and the touch, and she was amazed at how these animals really have no interest in anything but food. She loved it, and wants to go to DC with my son next week. Its definately a good thing for a teenager.
