It's been 20+ years since I've been to Sea World. Long before there were actually rides! We are going to visit Sea World next month and I need help with some kind of itinerary. I'm definitely interested in doing the thrill rides and most of the shows (Shamu, Clyde & Seamore pirate: and maybe Horizons?) and exhibits (dolphin and penguin). I assume there isn't any kind of FastPass in place so do we run and do the rides first at park opening? We'll be going the middle of December and will be a weekday visit so I'm hoping the crowds will be minimal but since I'm in charge of 5 people I feel like I need to be somewhat prepared!

There aren't any little kids with us so no interest in kiddy rides. I have a feeling we'll be jamming a lot in to a 9 hour day!

Is there a guide that can be downloaded that gives an idea of when the shows happen? And how early do you need to be at the shows to get a decent seat?

Thanks so much!

It's definitely tricky to get it all in one day, mostly due to show schedules, especially in Dec. as they close earlier. They usually have a buy 1day/get one free deal, so we did 2 days on 1 trip to break it up. I would plan around the shows you want to see, as it's hard to catch them back-to-back, as you need to get to the next location, and want to be at the stadium a little early to get seats. If you go on their website, you can go under park hours, and see what time shows will be on your day(not sure if you can see your dates yet, but you can still probably get a good idea w/times now). You should also check out the park map to help you figure out which things are close to each other.

We love Clyde and Seamore, dolphin show(horizons?) and Shamu. They also have a Christmas celebration going on - not sure what extras that brings. I will miss my manatees this trip:sad1:, as we are staying onsite w/no car, and won't have much time anyway w/trying to do all the Christmas things at WDW. I will have to visit the Seas at Epcot for my fix! If you'd like to feed the dolphins(very cool), I would try to do that 1st thing at opening, as it gets crowded, and they only let so many people do it at one time. None of the shows start right away, so you could do that and then head to 1st show of the day. I heard there was a new baby dolphin born recently, so you might want to check it out at the nursery! Enjoy!

Ah I didn't see the show times b/c they aren't listed for Dec. yet but looking at this month it seems like the shows don't start until after 11am. That should give us plenty of time to get the rides done. I'd like to feed the dolphins so that's good to know that we should do that early. Thank you!
