Sea World Hotel Renassance vs JW Marriot

Am planning to go to Sea World and would like a nice hotel to splurge at for last couple nights. Right now I can't get a very good rate at JW ($399) where Renassance is $206 club level.

Why the big difference?
What is the Renassance like?
Is it old and worn and out of shape?
What am I missing?
Is JW that much more impressive and nice?

Where would you go in the area to splurge for a great place?
(I do have 2 DD's so the pool area is very important)

I have not stayed at the Renessance, but the JW was VERY VERY nice. Lazy River pool, comfortable beds, beautiful grounds. It would be hard to compete on quality!

rennaissance was ok- but I wouldn't pay 209-I got club for $159 in May and was dissappointed in the club's offerrings. This was an anniversary trip so we did two nights there- it was fine for us in regards to cleanliness, large room, comfortable beds- but not what I would consider a splurge hotel. Lobby is nice- but once you walk thru that's about it. Try the marriott world center- more pricey but much more worth it!

What kind of price can I get at JW in June on sun, mon, tues? Any ideas on how to lower the current $ at JW?
Am I too early to look at them, now?

Why don't you try priceline just in the seaworld area--I believe the only 2 resorts that come up in that area are the JW and the Rennasance, so you would most likely get either. At spring break in March 05, we got the JW for $115. It's gorgeous!!! Try biddingfortravel.com and they have tips on how to bid. They even have a list of what hotels come up for what star level or resort. Good Luck!
