We were planning a stay at Disney World from Dec 11th to the 21st and then going home to celebrate the holidays in South Carolina. Then it dawned on me that DH is on vacation until the 28th and if he wished he could extend his vacation until Jan 4th. (it would be 12 vacation days all together and he gets 24 plus a year). We where thinking of staying down there off property and relaxing, seeing family (I have family in Palm Coast, Daytona Beach, and St. Augustine) and going to Sea World. Our five year old loved SW when we went for a day in 2006. How is Sea World over Christmas? Is it as crowded as Disney World? How about the Christmas Luau or the meal with Shamu?

Thanks in advance for any advice and/or tips!

Haven't ever gone on Christmas Day but have been during Christmas week and the park is swamped. We couldn't get into any shows one year. They were announcing full stadiums an hour before show time. We ended up doing only things without set times like feeding the sea lions and walking around in shops, etc. . It took us over an hour and a half just to get into the park after getting on I-drive at the 528.

I used to work there and have to say, depends on the weather. I normally GO on Christmas being a local and believe it or not, it's NOT bad and very festive. The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is fondly referred to as 'hell week' and is the worst part. Christmas Day is normally very safe and I'm pretty sure that Christmas Eve is as well as I've worked many of them. And I worked there for almost five years and was a passholder for many years before. In fact, two years I got sent home early (aka got to go hang out in the park) because there were so few people in there!

What time do they close on Christmas Eve usually?
