We will be staying at PBR at Universal for 5 days in February. We are thinking of going to Sea World one of those days. Any ideas what is the best !way to get there, and how early do we have to be there? Thanks!

I think there is a free shuttle to SW from the onsite resort hotels. I don't know the schedule though.

The best time to get there would be right when it opens at 9 am. You can check Sea World's website to get an idea of all the show times for the various shows. Right now it don't look like they have February hours posted yet. Just keep checking back. Getting an early idea of what time the shows are will help you plan the day better.

Will you have a rental car? If not, then I don't really know the best way to get there. We always rent a car when we go to Orlando.

There is a shuttle from the hotel but you'll have to check at the front desk for times. It may not get you there by opening or before opening time.

Back in August 2009, we stayed at HRH and did a day at Sea World. We just took a cab to and from. Cost us about $25, including tip each way, so $50 total, but it was WELL worth it to us. I believe the shuttle only ran at certain times and we didn't want to be tied to that. There were plenty of cabs waiting outside of HRH and tons outside of SW when we left.

I am almost certain there is a free shuttle from all on-site resorts. As for off site, you would have to check with the front desk.

When we were there in August, there were free shuttles, but they never ran at a time to get you there for park opening. Also, keep in mind that the shuttle doesn't just pick up at your hotel and can take a while. (Not the best if you are in a hurry.) We took a cab on our first day; it was just under $20 before tip. Our second day we did take the shuttle as we were just doing a few things we had missed the prior day. The cheapest way to get there is the shuttle (since it's free!) but we found the cab to be the best way. :goodvibes

I second the taxi option, that's what we did twice in August. If you don't want to count on the taxi being outside the hotel in the AM, just call Mears the night before and make a reservation. That way they will definitely be there. That's what we did. On the way back, there is a stand at SW with taxi's always waiting.

The shuttle will get you there after the park opens and is limited on when it returns. You also need to make a reservation and specify which shuttle you are returing on. Extremely inflexible.

Taxi's worked great.
