Hey there has anyone used sea bands. I have bought one pair and thought I would give them a go. However now my kids all want a pair "just in case". At $17 each I really don't want to buy another 3 and not have them use them:scared1:. My question is has anyone seen them on the disney cruise for sale. I did ask in the cruise section of disboards but only one person said they had seen them on the magic. We are going on the dream and just debating in my head if I should just wait and buy them on the dream if I need rather than adding another expense before we go:confused3

Managing nausea is something that DH deals with alot! With pressure bands, Its all about pressure on the right spot, so you can make your own although it probably won’t look as good! We use ECG dots (almost like press studs, ie anything with a round hard shape), place it at the right spot and just bandage it or tape it on. Just enough for constant pressure but so hard that it hurts. If you know anything who works at a medical centre or hospital, the ECG dots are easy to get, ask them to get some for you.

I am a RN so I can get my hands on some thank you so much! Do you find that this works for you guys. I have also got some zofran wafers just in case. We are allergic to maxalon and stemitil so the pressure points would be great if they work! I remember you telling me about your husbands job.....I am sure he deals with nausea on a daily basis lol!

RN, easy peasy! If you can get the ECG dots easily, there's no harm bringing them along and trying them out. However, you've got the big power player, zofran wafers, that's very handy to have as a back up!

I haven't used the presure bands to help on ships as I don't get seasick, buit I used them when I was pregnant and horribly nauseated. It did take the edge off but my nausea was quite severe. I do recall that out of the "alternative" therapies, the accupressure points and ginger were the only 2 that were clinically tested. I'll check with DH. Oh, and I meant to write " not too hard that it hurts", please don't put it on so hard that it hurts!!

Thanks shushh....ha ha just had image of putting ECG dots on my kids pulling on the tap saying "does it hurt now? tell me when it hurts and I will stop". I knew what you meant....too funny.

Bwahaha. Love it!

I used the bands when I was pregnant too. They were a lifesaver with DS1, but only took the edge off with the other two. Still wonderful though :)
