Sea Bands worked for me for motion sickness

I really want to try out the Forbidden Journey and Gringotts on our December trip, but since turning 40 I've had some issues with motion sickness that I never had when I was younger, and it's gotten steadily worse each year. I'm 53 now.

Anyway, I haven't gone to Universal/IOA yet, but over the weekend I was at a local Missouri theme park and for the first time wore wrist bands all day. My dad suggested this to me. OMG I had no issues at all on any of the rides (and I'm talking about rides that I normally don't do because of not feeling that great for an hour or so after riding them (motion sickness) that have given me trouble for years. It was like turning back time about 15 years for me.

The sea bands can be picked up at Walgreens for about $10. Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else might want to consider trying them. I have the confidence now to try those two new HP rides for sure.

Thanks for posting this. I too am worried about the hp rides & some others that I will be doing for the 1st time in three weeks. I had briefly considered a sea sickness band. How do they work? Is there medicine released or is it a pressure point thing?

its a Placebo but if it helps you keep at it, but for everyone else just know its not magic, just placebo.

For posters who are wondering how they worked, this is from the website below and tells a little bit about them.

About Sea-Band Acupressure Wristbands
Approved by the FDA, Sea-Band acupressure wristbands are a leading drug-free remedy for nausea caused by morning sickness, motion sickness, chemotherapy and post-operative nausea. They have also been proven to relieve migraine-related nausea. The healing principle behind Sea-Band acupressure wristbands is the ancient Chinese art of acupressure, exerting constant pressure on the PC6 (or Neiguan) acupressure point on the inner wrist. The gentle, continuous stimulation causes the nervous system to release chemicals that help trigger the body's natural healing abilities and control nausea, according to numerous scientific/medical journals. Clinically tested, Sea-Bands work within five minutes after being applied. They can be worn prior to or at the onset of nausea and for as long as needed. As with so many things there are critics of the clinical trials and skeptics. For $10 I thought they were worth a try, and I personally don't think this was in my head. I did better on rides than I have in years. My dad has found them very helpful for many things, and that's why he recommended them to me. He's really susceptible to motion sickness.

Glad they worked for you, it does make a difference if you can enjoy the rides without nausea ::yes::

I've tried them twice. Once for sea sickness......had no effect whatsoever, but tried them again at Universal few years ago and again, were no use to me.

But you have to try anything and see if it works for you.

I stick to non drowsy Dramamine........only thing that makes a difference for me and I tried everything.
