So we will be taking the train to DW. I usually take Dramamine when we fly but I don't want to take it for a longer trip like it will be on the train. I have heard about SeaBands and MotionEaze and I'm wondering which is better. Also heard about ginger and other things but I don't really need any info on those, just the SeaBands and MotionEaze. Thanks for any advice you can give me!!!

Sea bands don't work as we'll for me as Dramamine. But then a train would be less bothersome than a car or plane trip, provided I never had to face backward. Bought MotionEase and ginger capsules but haven't tried them. Motion Ease does have quite a lavender and eucalyptus scent. Was given a scopolamine patch for a few days to prevent post- surgical nausea and it worked like a charm. Dry mouth but none of the tired feeling from Dramamine or Bonine.

I take Bonine when I'm on the DCL. I take it at night but you can take it in the morning. Never got motion sick on either cruise. Didn't make me feel drowsy either. I bought the chewable ones but was told on here not to chew them as they taste horrible.

I will bring lots for the next cruise-14 nights!

I take Bonine too which is once every 24 hours and non-drowsy. I get VERY motion sick and need to take it to be a passenger in a car, take a train, fly etc... For my cruise though I Didn't need it. The ship was so big I guess you barely felt like you were moving :) And they make Bonine Kids as well but those are every 6 hours

I think most of the long-haul trains are double deckers. If so, see if you can get a lower level seat. I took the auto train with my then 15-month old son a couple years ago and requested lower level for ease of lavatory access. When I went upstairs to go to dinner I was shocked at how much more movement there was up there. I hadn't even thought about motion sickness issues, but I know I would have been miserable on the upper level. On the other hand, I had no problems at all where we were.

For comparison purposes, I always need something when I cruise but don't usually take anything when I fly. I drove another 3 hours after our auto train trek and felt "woozy" for the rest of the day but was back to normal the next day. This was comparable to a typical post-cruise feeling (if you get that) but went away a little quicker I think.
