SDV Orlando August 27 -30 2009

Yay - I ordered Carolina Blue and Charity Pink. I wasn't sure on sizes, but at those prices I went ahead and ordered 2 different sizes.

I just had a moment out of Hitchcock's "The Birds" movie . . . sitting here ordering my shirts and I heard a lot of birds - like a hundred birds - in our trees and then "bam - bam" and I looked up and this huge black bird was flying into my window over and over and over again! Scary! Then it perched on the bench outside the window for several minutes, flew off, and all the other birds followed it. Good thing we have new hurricane impact windows or all those birds might have followed it into my house - YIKES!

Lisa I can't wait to see that crop a dile cuttin' like buttah!!!

I just pm'd you my email address! Thanks!

Buffy, did we decide what day we are wearing what colors?

I was figuring Pink on Saturday and the blue either Friday or Sunday, I'm leaning toward Sunday.

They are easy, all you really need is a printer and the transfer paper, I buy mine from ACMoore.

On the colored shirts I recommend the transfer for dark colors for more vibrate color but if you don't want the white background it leaves, then you have to cut everything out with an exacto knife. Tedious at best but it looks cool.

I cut out the outline, under Mickey's arm, and the WALT DIS. I did cut out around the purple band last year but it becomes very unstable so I think that will just have to stay white. I do not cut all the way through the paper, just the transfer material. Peel it away, then iron. Oh and I discarded the Stars, too small for me to cut by hand.

Honestly if I were not a perfectionist I would do the transfer for White shirts, it's much easier. The color of the shirt will bleed through a bit but it still looks great!

Rebecca, I've done iron-on transfers before and they are easy to do. I've only done them on white shirts though, so maybe a practice shirt is in order to see how the color comes through. Or cut out the design as Buffy suggested. I have found washing the shirt first works best and there should be directions on the iron-on box whether or not to use fabric softener/dryer sheets.

I always wash our shirts first and don't use dryer sheets.:)

My shirts arrived yesterday! Those colors are so pretty!

So, do we think pink on Saturday and blue on Sunday? Will we all wear our pink shirts to breakfast on Saturday too?

Yep, wear your shirt to breakfast.

Lisa I got the transfer paper yesterday, now to clean my room enough to put up the ironing board. LOL

Excuses, excuses. :sad2:

Bring the kids over to use the pool, set up my iron board out on the deck while you play lifeguard (afterall I know how good you are at multi-tasking), and get to work, woman! ;):rotfl2:

If we were the blue Friday, we will have an easy time recognizing one another. then the pink for breakfast Saturday, but hey, I am easy, whatever everyone decides to do is fine by me. :)

That is a good idea - it would be an easy way to recognize everyone.

And if the pink or blue aren't too dirty, we can always wear them again on Sunday ;)

Good morning ladies!! I'm really getting excited about SDV. Just over a month to go!!!

So, I was cleaning out my scrapbook room a couple of weeks ago, and found some scrapbook totes that I no longer need. I have a Cropper Hopper Navigator, Cropper Hopper Backpack, Karen Foster shoulder tote, and maybe one more. Any offer considered and I could bring it to you at SDV. Just an offer to my SDV friends, before I bring them to the scrapbook store's garage sale this fall.

Hey Everyone!! Are you getting anything ready for SDV yet??? I've started packing essentials, adhesive, sissors, cutters etc....

I have my paper and most tools ready to go. Still need to stock up on adhesives and buy some O rings at Staples. Less than a month to go! :goodvibes

Just out of curiosity, for y'all who are flying down, do you ship all of your stuff or pack it on the plane? I'm lucky that it's only a 1.5 hour drive for me and I still worry about bringing too much.

I've started gathering paper and embellishments for the projects I want to work on, and getting my pictures into Photoshop for fixing/sizing/printing. I hope to get it all packed up and ready at least a week in advance but I know I'll be running around like a crazy person with last minute stuff to pack up the night before I leave

My page kits are packed, just need to do titles at Lisa's crop. Now on to tools and baubles.
30 days!!!!!!!!

Jenn, I ship my tools in a Tuff box tote and carry my page kits and pics as my carry on, mom carries the clothes. I've heard horror stories of TSA agents taking tools even in checked luggage saying they were contraband so I don't want to risk losing them, I have way to much money invested in my stuff.

I check my tools and paper. Didn't have a problem last year, and hoping for the same this year.
