Hi,

I'm sorry if this has already been answered, but can you book SDFP for another park?

Not sure what you mean by "book." You can't book SDFP+ in advance. You get them at the kiosks. You can get them at more than one park, but not until you get into each park. That's been my experience with old cards. @marciemi have you tried using linked MBs at more than one park?

To be more clear I was wondering if I was at MK in the morning and went to a kiosk, could I get my SDFP+ and then switch them to a different park from my phone.

Sounds like that is not possible?

It isn't possible. The kiosks are linked to that specific park's FP database.

I see you answered the question but just FYI, here's what I've found:

1. Kiosks only work for the specific park for anyone (not just SDFP). If you try to book SDFP's in one park and then switch them to another park you get the "Not so fast. The following people don't have tickets" message and it asks if you want to drop them from the party or buy tickets. Even if you use all 3 in that park you cannot get a 4th (SDFP) from your phone for either the same park or another - you have to go to the kiosk.

2. The system DOES recognize that you've gotten FP's (even with the SDFP's) that day so when you switch parks you will only be able to get 1 at a time at the kiosk with the SDFP's, not three new ones in the new park.

The exception to this seems to be the old resort room cards with RFID. They're not linked to an MDE, so they operate differently.

Okay my family of 4 is going to MK in July and we will have 8 old magic bands to use for SDFP if that loophole is still working of course. They are on seperate MDE account from our park ticket MBs.

So my question is ...can I go to a kiosk and use 4 of the old bands to make fast passes for Haunted mansion at say 5-6pm and then use the other 4 to make FP for POTC at 430-530?

Thanks!!

If the 8 bands are for 8 different people (or two separate MDE accounts for 4 people that aren't at all linked together), then yes, you could do that. If there are only 4 people in your party and half of the bands are "clones" (meaning 2 of them were originally for you, etc.) then you'd only be able to get one set of 4.

Big blow to my SDFP strategy yesterday in that the kiosks in MK in City Hall were covered!! I asked the CM who told me they "haven't been working for a couple days" but my bet is that they're trying to phase them out. :( I'll be there Sun and will check quickly again then. Had to go all the way back to the masses at the Philharmagic kiosks.

If my friend has an AP, and we are connected through Friends and Family, and I am able to modify his fast passes, but do not have his band or card, can I book fast passes 30 days out under his profile, and then reassign his pre booked fast passes via the app to a non-ticketed phantom after I have made 3 SDFPs in the park on a kiosk as long as it is in the same park?

Or does this sound really crazy?

I know I can try to cancel the fast passes from the AP and pick them up day of via kiosk for the phantom, or try to swap SDFP via the app, but there is the possibility of losing them.
Okay, I tried this multiple times yesterday. As far as I can tell, you can't do this with SDFP FPP's, other than using the "drop and pick up" method. The problem is when you use the "Change Party" option it's not looking to see if the Dummy person has a FPP for the day, just to see if they're eligible to book FPP. Which they're not. So I booked a SDFP for "Lori" and then tried to change one of my Barnstormer ones from someone else to her. Even though she only had one SDFP, if wouldn't recognize that or allow me to change that one or add another one. I tried several times. I did try changing to one of my AP people (who has valid admission and wasn't in the park) and was able to swap out directly without a risk of losing the FPP so it would be useful to hold a spot in the example I'd mentioned earlier for someone who was booking their ticket later or had to buy at the gate (or CM tickets or whatever). But I don't see a way to do it with SDFP.

Oh no I hope they don't phase them out too soon we will be there in June to try this for the first time! You mentioned that the kiosks at Philhar are busier but if I go first thing in the morning at RD after Pan do you think there will be a long line then too?

Thank you for your reply! I appreciate you checking this out!!

I will use the "drop and pick up" method. Any suggestions on whether it is better to drop, and add via kiosk OR with the SDFP+ now being modifiable via app, should I just book any 3 random SDFP+ via kiosk with phantoms, and then drop the pre-booked AP fast passes one by one via MDE app, and modify the phantoms via app as soon as they are removed/cancelled from the AP?

If at all possible I would do it using 2 phones. I'd first grab any 3 SDFP's from the kiosk but make sure they're at a time that won't conflict with what you want (so you don't waste time on the "Uh oh, there's a conflict" screen. So maybe grab evening ones if you're looking to change for afternoon or morning. Then have one person drop the unwanted ones one at a time while you look for the exact same thing on your phone. I've done this with ADR's a bunch of times and guess FPP's are now the new thing to try it on!

When you use the "change party" option it appears it is letting you add (or remove) a person from your party and then it searches for a FP+ to match the others. It does not appear to let you move a FP+ from person A to B. Correct? For example, I had 3 FP+ booked. One for myself, one for son, and one for DH. Now that my sons friend is going I tried to move DH's FPs to the friend. Instead it added FPs for the friend but in the case of 7-D I had to pick a different time. Is there a way to actually swap names? I know we could just swap bands but DH may not go at all and I reassigned his ticket to the friend.

Maybe removing the kiosks is the quick and dirty way to stop the booking of SDFPs. If you can't do it via your phone then it can't be done. I wouldn't think this would be the best way though for I imagine many people don't have a smart phone or if international it may not have service. Perhaps they would just keep CMs with pads though.

So are CM's policing the kiosks now? I would think unless you are wearing your other MB while swiping ones in your hand, how in the world would they even know what you are up to? Is there some type of alert that comes on the screen or something that says the band is not attached to tickets?

I think the kiosk lines will remain much lower now since most people in them were getting 4th FPP's which can of course now be done from the phone. I do think though the busiest time might be first thing in the morning as the main people using them would be those who didn't have smart phones or hadn't bought tickets until that day. But probably nothing like they used to be. I arrived yesterday around 2:30 and when I went back to the Philharmagic kiosks they were all full but there wasn't a line (I just waited for the next one to open up).

It seemed to swap them for me yesterday. I swapped a Barnstormer when I was already in the window (and none showed as available at the kiosk) from my DH to my son (who wasn't in the park but has an AP) - it showed similar to "Removing from the party - DH; adding to the party - DS". But of course I have no way of proving there weren't any FPP's available right then - I would think if you had an issue it would be with rides like 7D. I'll try again down the road at some point - maybe that only works "day of" or something?
