DH & DS aren't going on our June trip. They both have AP's. Can I use their bands to get extra FP's for DD & I? Or is it going to look funny when two females try to use two MB's with male names? Will the bands even work if they aren't scanned at the gate for entry?

If I can get the FP's, I can do it at 30 days, correct?

I haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if already explained.

Check out the fictional story of a family in your situation:

Middle names are a lot safer than initials. But again, you could also use your favorite Disney characters as the first names. Because you'll be reassigning those FP generator tickets to the real people before they're used for park admission.

Like I posted earlier, if the non-expiring tickets have any of the entitlements used, they can't be reassigned at a later date.

That is why I used a variation of our real names on the phantom profiles. At some point when we stop getting AP's every year, we will be using these tickets for Disney admission. That is why you need the phantom name to be similar to your real name in case you ever have problems actually using these non-expiring tickets.

That makes sense.

You don't have to have login - you can just tap the MBs at a kiosk to get SDFP+. If you want to change your SDFP+ online (after making them at the kiosk), you'd need your friends' log ins.

You don't have to read all 16 pages, but you might want to look over the first page of the original thread:

http://www.disboards.com/threads/maximize-fp-get-a-second-set-see-post-227-before-posting.3245463/

PS The recent changes will allow you to book just one SDFP+ (rather than the previously required three) per person if that's what you want.

Thank you for the link. And other answers. I'll read this.

ETA - I do NOT have any tickets associated with spare bands.

Just to clarify: of the 10 bands I am using, none of them have tickets associated with them.

When I approach the kiosk and tap the first band, I understand it may or may not access the other bands from the original party. I do not need any password? And I can select up to three SDFP+?

Why settle for SDFP+ when you can prebook FP with those tickets?. Set up phantoms on your MDE and assign the tickets to them, then prebook your second set of FP+. (We're calling those Generator Linked FP+ or GLFP+! Your UT tickets are FP generators.) Bring the UT tickets with you for FP entrance. Entering a FP does NOT take a day of admission off a ticket. Next year, you just reassign the unused tickets to the real people.

The UT tickets -- do they have the tiny circled Mickey head on the back - are the RFID? If not, then you would have to get MBs for the phantoms in order to access the GLFP+. That's because you need an RFID card or MB to enter the FP+ attraction. If the UT tickets are vouchers, they won't work at the FP+ tap points.
I've tried reading all of the SDFP threads and cannot figure this out. I just bought the UT tix last month. So I should just do phantoms on my MDE acct and not create a new MDE acct? We have 5 of us and staying at CBR. Would adding the phantoms (and adding FP's to my 2nd set of tix) to that acct create any issues with my reservations?

You can't sign into an MDE at a kiosk. You can only tap and pick SDFP+. So there's no where to type in a password in any case. You definitely don't need one. You can select up to three SDFP+. You can keep tapping the bands one after another (follow the directions on the screen) if you want to make FP+ for the whole group together. Though that will limit your choices.

I would add the phantoms to your main MDE. Some people have forty or more names of friends and family on their MDE. Makes no difference to the reservation. The only people on the reservation are the ones you indicated when you made the reservation.

The UT tickets are RFID? They're not vouchers?

Holy smokes! I've been back from my trip for about a month now. I haven't really checked the boards. This thread has really picked up steam. I'm happy that I was able to pass along the information I learned. It made the experience so much better.

Yes. They have the little mickey symbol on the back too. Like credit cards. The first set I got, I linked them to my reservation to make FP at 60 days. We bought the second set right before the price increase for next yr.
Edited: Just added phantoms and did FP's. I could only do FP's to 5/19, so I'm hoping tomorrow that I can get 5/20, etc. Thank you so much for your help!!

Ok. So I'm borrowing my SIL's bands for our trip next month to do SDFP. What's the best kiosk to use in the morning at magic kingdom? city hall? Are there long waits? It will be Sat. 21st of May (crowd predicted to be about 7). What should I expect to get? (just so I'm not terribly dissapointed) I was hoping for Buzz, Astro orbiter and Pooh, because that would fit my touring plans for that day. we are going to watch the welcome show, and eat at CRT at 9:15.

I've never waited for more than one person at City Hall. Buzz and Pooh shouldn't be a problem but Astro Orbiter doesn't have FPP.

i guess i didn't realize that. I was just so obsessed with watching wait times and trying to find the best fp to get for the times. huh. maybe I'll try the barnstormer or Ariel then. I already have PP, 7DMT and the speedway (which is and absolute MUST for my 3 year old boy). Or maybe I'll just get another speedway FP.
this is day one of 2.5 MK days, so we have another full day doing the other side of the park. with FP for splash, BTMRR and A&E.
So that day I'm going to try to get SDFP for HM, POTC, and jungle cruise. I'm hoping those won't be a problem either.
Oh yeah and there are 6 of us, not sure if that will make a huge difference in morning availbilty.

Thanks for all the helpful information you all have shared on this thread! I'm cautiously optimistic about trying this. I have 2 MDE accounts, one with NE ticket days remaining and one with the new tickets/room reservation for our upcoming trip. I know enough to be careful not to use the NE account for park entry, but my question is, are we absolutely positive that the unused ticket entitlements won't be impacted if I use the NE card/MB for a few extra FP?

Yes. :) Your ticket entitlements definitely remain intact. The FP tapstiles at all FP attractions only access the FP database which has nothing at all to do with ticket entitlements.

So when you guys use the 6 FP's, do you schedule them back to back and sometimes overlap them a bit?

At MK at least you can easily do 2 in an hour. I use 3 sets and 3 per hour is pushing it unless you have a type A family or do very well in coordinating locations to minimize walking. At the other parks, rides like Test Track or Great Movie Ride or similar ones with preshows and various steps can take a lot longer so I'd never book more than 2 an hour there.

I appologize if these questions have already been answered previously.

I have several old magic bands but they are all previously and linked to the main MDE account. Is there some way to link them to a different account? If not do I have to buy a new set of previously unused magic bands on line or from a Disney store? Have the recent changes to the fast pass system changed how this works? Can you still only make the SDFP on the same day? Can you make the SDFP reservations on my IPad early in the morning or do I have to go to the park or a kiosk?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

All your answers are on the first page of the original thread:

It's worth reading because you should understand the way it all works before you try it! Hope you have a great trip!

Forgive me if this has been explained before. Our party of 9 - going in July 2016 - have real plastic card tickets. We will assign these to our MDE #1 account to enable to book our FP+ 30 days prior to going (we're staying offsite).

When we get there we are purchasing magic bands for the group. We will set up a MDE #2 account to link these bands too when in the parks at a kiosk.

Does this then allow us to get those SDFP+ on our magic bands... And also use our plastic card tickets for our first pre-ordered set?

Many thank M
