Is it possible to do both the zoo and wild animal park in 1 day? Or should I allow 1 day per each park? Thanks in advance!

The zoo and the WAP are pretty far away from each other....so lack of proximity would interfere. Also, when we have company...we spend easily 6 hours at the zoo, and that is with us as locals making them skip the "boring" parts!!! Do I have to look at the snakes...AGAIN!!?????!
When we are going without visitors...we only spend 3-4 hours...but we go every 4-6 weeks!!
The WAP is large, and to see it all and to catch the bird show....3/4 of a day!

So, if you have only one day, do one. If you have 2 days...see both!

Enjoy and make sure you see the Takins at the zoo, up near the polar bears...bizarre looking Dr. Seuss creatures!! Amy

no way in heck. for one, the WAP is about 45 minutes outside of SD. It is easily a two or three day trip by and of itself. and the Zoo is also a 2 day trip to see everything.

when we were stationed in SD we were passholders and it took us about three separate visits to each to see everything the first time.

Luckily we went every weekend..heheheh

Do one day each if you can. Lots of big hills to walk up and down too :) Just like WDW, get there at opening if at all possible! It's sooo much cooler and a lot less crowded. We had passes for a few years and went about once a month. We'd usually stay for 3 hrs (at either park) and not even come close to seeing everything.

It's not something I'd recommend. You technically COULD, but you'd be cheating yourself, rushing through everything. Although they're both "zoos" they vastly different. My parents live five minutes from the Wild Animal Park, and even now, after going there countless times every year, when we do go, we still spend the majority of the day there. It's a nice place to just "spend some time". The Zoo is the same, in my book. If you tired of the zoo, there are many many museums in Balboa park you could look into.

You definitely need one day for each. We just went to the zoo on Sunday and spent about 6 hours there. That's without kids and we didn't even see everything.
