I just bought the Pentax *istDL. Now I need memory cards. Should I get the regular SD 1GB card by Sandisk or the ultra II 1 GB card by Sandisk?

(I'll shop around for comparable products by other manufacturers)

If you don't see yourself shooting in "burst mode" the standard card should do fine. Personally, I have a few 2GB 133x cards and a 150x card because my camera will also shoot video. I've had no problems with my Corsair, OCZ, Partiot or Transcend (4GB) cards for what it's worth...

If you plan on using its buffer to the limit (taking 30-40 continuous shots) then the ultra is the way to go, it will also speed the process when downloading pics to the computer, but I haven't heard how much time it actually does save. Otherwise go to buy.com and get the kingston SD card. Great card and they have a great price.

don't forget there is also the offload speed to think about. the faster the card, the faster you can get the photos onto your PC.
