script allergies

i've had a couple health problems recently and am on a few meds. I am breaking out in a rash. But i also took a bath and used a bath oil and an after bath lotion, all new.
I need the meds i'm on. don't want to stop them unnecessarily. All of them list a rash as a side effect. Any thoughts.

Did you break out in a rash soon after the bath?

How long have you been on the meds.

I'm allergic to all the "cillans" (actually only one--but once you have one they give you none!) and rash is my side affect. Had knee surgery in October and had a rash/itchy reaction to an antiobiotic they gave me (not a cillan).

Usually, once the source is removed--it will go away. You can try to take a shower to get rid of any residue from the bath oil and lotion--but if you condition does not improve--then it was probably the meds. Docs can often times provide a substitute if what you are on is not working.

ETA: Take some benadryl as long as it is not contra-indicated for what you are taking. A pharmarcist can tell you if it is or not.

I feel for you. Been there, done that. I'd continue with the meds and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two, it's not the other stuff.

Give your pharmacist a call. Love mine, because I'll be told "no, rash is relatively rare for that or yep, you're on XYZ, that's normal"

everybody's closed now and it's not serious enough to call anybody. I took benadryl. I'm betting it's the cipro. It's worked wonders for a UTI i'm fighting. I really need to finish it out. I only have 2 days left, I"ve taken 4 days worth.. Amoxycillen didn't work at all. I was on it for something else when i got the UTI. I'll call pham in the am. If I don't have any other symptoms maybe the doc will ok me taking benadryl to ease the rash.
I just tend to break out easily to changes in laundry soap, bath stuff, etc. So i'd hate to give up a med I need. I started a new bp today because of an allergy issue. I doubt it's that because I sort of think I saw this rash starting yesterday on the bottoms of my legs.
