So much has happened, we had to cancel next summer's trip, knowing we would be postponing our next family trip until 2020. However, MIL has just agreed to do a short trip with me next fall (Nov/early Dec), so that we can do the MVMCP. My kids will be 11 and 8. It's going to be a short trip, a day at Lego Land, and possibly ONLY the Christmas party. It all depends on budget. If we buy a one-day ticket it will probably be for Epcot to see the Candelight procesional. But, at least it's Disney!

We have no idea where we're staying yet - if we'll do onsite or off. What are the chances of nabbing a free dining deal that time of year (sometimes between mid November to mid December)? Not even sure how many are going - may see if SIL and her kids want to join us, too.

On another note, does anyone know when the "Value" season is, for buying single day tickets?

Really excited for you @mshanson3121! I hope everything falls perfectly into place for you with these new plans. Even though it may be a short trip, it sounds wonderful - MVMCP and possibly Candlelight Processional? What a way to kick off the holiday season! I'm sure your kids will be thrilled!

Free dining isn't actually always that great of a deal. You need a minimum of 2 day park hoppers, forgo any room discount, and unless you stay deluxe you are only getting the quick service plan.

A room only discount will probably save you more money.

Hmm... good to know.

I know.. I have wanted to do Disney at Christmas forever! We had really hoped for this June, but this past summer, DH's father ended up seriously ill (we weren't sure he was going to make it), so all our necessary home reno plans etc... went out the window, and now are rescheduled for next summer. Which meant it would be 2019 before we could go, and we figured by that point, we might as well just wait till SWL is open, since we're all huge SW fan. So this works out perfectly - a quick jaunt to scratch the itch while we wait for our big trip, lol. My son was actually crying the other day, he was missing Disney so much.

I would keep the Lego land plans then. Another year and they will quickly outgrow it. I had wanted to take my kids but the timing wasn't right. Now that they are teens, I just don't see that it would be worth it. We still have Sea World on our bucket list. Too much time at Disney lol.

That was our thought. We won't be back till they're 13 and 10, so too old I imagine for LL.
