Hi everyone - just curious if anyone here has made pages for the Disney Marathon (or other Disney races)? I have hit a low point in my training for 2010 and wanted to inspire myself by scrapping the 2009 marathon. (Just looking at our finish line photo makes me smile!) I'd love to see examples others have made!

thanks -
Sunny

I"ll have to check with my hairdresser. she, her DH, and their DS have done two Disney Marathons: WDW and at DL, and she is a scrapper. I'll be seeing her next week. I'll let you know. :)

Congrats on your training and running the marathon!!! Awesome feat. :thumbsup2

Sunstress, that's a great photo of you guys with your medals!

I've struggled to scrap Marathons every year since 2001. I usually end up with poor race photos and too frugal to buy the official ones. There are not many marathon embellis of any kind out there either. I usually wind up staging photos of the bibs and medals of the team, and group photos of the meets, and then the stories - usually there are a few. I have a whole book of marathon pages now, but we're not talking works of art here - more like capture the memories before they get away.

I actually have done a whole album - Runner Girl...I have pictures that I took during races (yes, I carry my camera...sigh...) and pictures that other people took...I did the half in January so I have a lot of Donald stuff... Hope that helps a little...

Thanks! We were just so darn proud of ourselves. :) I actually ended up taking pictures of my bibs, shirts, and medals to add to some random pictures of me and DH as we plodded along at other races. But -- because this year's WDW race was our first marathon -- I splurged and bought the official photos. For some reason I am just having a hard time getting started. I guess "there's nothing to it but to do it" -- I just need to make some time and space to sit down and scrap!

I carry my camera, too! Since I am always attracted to races where you get to run across bridges or dams or things you can't normally walk on, it seems silly not to stop and record the occasion! Besides, I'm a pretty slow runner -- a minute or two here or there to snap photos isn't going to make much difference. :)

Do either of you have examples posted somewhere I can see them?

I'm taking the week of Thanksgiving off work (we have a "use it or lose it" PTO policy at my job) so maybe I'll focus on scrapping like crazy then.

thanks!
Sunny
