I'm almost done my first project, a Disney trip and really enjoyed working with all the different colors that I picked from the photos. My next project is going to be mostly black and white photos. So what do you do???? All greys, black and white seems boring!

Any ideas?

THANKS!!

No, I don't think you have to use all blacks, whites and grays with B/W photos. I saw a beautiful wedding album where the photos were B/W and the papers used were a lovely light yellow and lavendar. I suggest you pick a couple colors to add as accent and stick with those colors throughout.

Cranberry looks really really hot on black pages with black and white photos.

Stick with a few accent colors to keep the look soft. I like the pastel grey blue, soft yellow, but even black , white and grey can look really sharp with papers that are textured, prints or embossed. Look for lots of variations of the colors you pick. There are so many to pick from. It will never be boring.

Wow, thanks for the good ideas! Now I'll hve to start looking for cool papers to work with.

Check out some papers made for heritage albums. Most of the time heritage albums use B & W photos and the papers are usually a muted color or pattern, but are very pretty. Good luck!

I'd suggest taking a few of the photos you're going to use to your LSS with you. My GS troop did a photo badge workshop last year and when I played with black and white film shooting them shooting!

Struggling with the same challenge I took the photos to LSS with me and ended up using a bright sort of periwinkle/royal blue, vellum type paper (it was a little heavier than most vellums). These were winter shots and the blue really made them pop. Pages were plain white. I simply angled an 8 x 11.5 paper across the 12 x 12 page and then arranged the photos on the page.

LOTS of great ideas! These photos are my childhood....yes, I lived in the "black and white" world!!:D At least in the early part of my life. I have a series of about a dozen studio-type (read JC Penney!) 5x7's. Partway through my collection I move into the "color world"!! So this should be interesting....

I lived in a "black and white" world, too. I was just going through a box of pictures my mother saved. I think I'm going to make 2 books--one for each of my kids and give them to them before I die--no fighting!

I was wondering the same thing--what paper to use----good ideas here!
