I went to a wedding. I got an extra program and some of their table decorations (yes, I took them! They were scrapbook punchies and the like.)

For a gift, I want to scrapbook the first few pages of an album with their things.

I don't know if the bride scraps at all so should I fill the rest of the book with pocket pages so she can put her snapshots in? Or should I scrap the rest of the pages without pictures?

Please - any anvice is appreciated greatly!

Do you know anyone who would know if she scraps? If not then I would probably make the pages without pictures. That way she can fill it in quickly. I bought a wedding album several months ago at Target that had pre done pages. They used 4 colors, black, grey, white, and cream. And the only embellishment was black ribbon. If you did all the pages, stick with a few colors of cardstock it will make the pages go faster. I'll get the camera out tonight and take some pics of my pages and post them.

I filled the empty spaces on the pages with quick quotes and some Jolees embellishments.

What a great wedding gift! Can you scrap the pages without pictures and have the bride return it to you after she gets her photos? She could choose which photos she wants on which pages. You could do any final trimming of the pics and add them to the book. If she doesn't scrap, she may not have the correct adhesive or know how to preserve photos. I also like your idea of adding a few pocket pages at the back. There are always photos leftover that aren't good enough for a page, but you don't want to lose them.

I am in the process of doing something similar for my sister (making a baby book that she will just add the pictures and certain information into over the years). I figured when I gave it to her I would include a package of photo adhesives and the right kind of pen for any words and journalling. I am making sure I leave room for the specail things that my family does as well as the normal baby benchmarks in the book.

Just thought I'd share :teeth: I did something similar to this for a non scrapping friend. I didn't go crazy with the embellishments either, because she isn't into it at all. I had an album that I had hand painted roses on the cover. I filled it with the pics from everyone that was at our table. Each page was labeled with who's camera they came from. So the beginning was the program with a title...and then it said "Debbie's Pics" and she saw what I saw at her wedding. Next was "Kathy's Pic's", and she saw what Kathy saw, Next was "Jac's Pics"...you get the idea. We were all at the same table, but each of us thought different things were important, so it was interesting to see what pics they gave me for the album. The back of the book was blank, and she told me that she has added the pics from everyone that gave her candids from the day. She told me she loves this album because the personality of everyone who was there shows in the album. She did make headings for everyone's pics, but that was it for she scrapping part.

Anyway, she thanked me many times for that gift, and really it was just something aside that I did for her. So, your bride will appreciate it, even if she isn't a scrapper herself. If she is a scrapper, then she could always add pages or embellish things on your pages. There are always so many pics from these things, it really is nice to put them in an album, and not in a box somewhere :bride:
