Scrapbook idea

I just wanted to share an idea my husband and I plan to use for our scrapbook. I always forget the little things that happen each day once I get back home; you know, the things that make it so special.

I bought an small inexpensive lined journal at Barnes and Noble. My husband and I are going to write an entry each day about the best or most memorable things from that day. When we get back home, we'll tear out the pages that we want to use in our scrapbook and put them with the pictures and other souvenirs from that day. I think the daily record will be much more exciting than if we tried to rewrite it when we get back home.

This might be a great thing to use with kids. If you keep it and their autographs in the same book, they could keep it all together.

Have a great vacation! Ours is so close, I can hardly wait!!!

Good idea and I hope it works better than my wifes. She planned to do the same thing on both of our cruises but we had such a good time and stayed busy so she forgot to journal.

Good luck and have a great time.

I have just started doing this idea for our last couple of trips.:D

Works very well for me. I have a preprinted page that I typed up on my computer and printed it out on some nice scrap book paper. (I leave the front side blank for photo's when I get home the back side has all the info) Some of the info includes, what did I like best? What did I like least? What do I wish I had had more time for and what would I do again. There is a small section for budget related items, one for restaraunts that we liked and food that we liked and another one that I record the starting and ending #'s from our digital camera (so I can remeber what day I took what) and if I have any special notes about any of the pictures. Sometimes after taking 30 to 40 pictures a day I couldn't remember when I got home where and when the pictures were taken. This really helps me.

Iv'e already got one made for our trip to DW this December.

Great Ideas ... now to just find the time to make the ScrapBook!

I also ... call me wierd ... sometimes take pictures of the super cool food we get served and keep threatening my DH that I'm going to take and enlarge one of them for his dinner some night!

that's what i did! and i got one for our DSs as well. since they don't really write yet, (they're 2 & 4), i had the 4 yo dictate & I wrote, and the 2 yo, i asked some questions & wrote his answers. the 2 yo did say other things, and i wrote whatever he said, grammar errors & all, related or not! i'm sure they'd treasure it, when they get older...i hope!

as for my journal...it was hard writing, especially when you're tired. a perfect time for us was early morning, when DH is still asleep, i sat out on the verandah, and just wrote about the previous day's activities & thoughts. it's a very nice thing to be able to reflect back & relive the magical moments!

haven't thought about tearing the pages & putting it into our scrapbook, but a nice thought. been meaning to put in a trip report section of this board! :wave2:

I applaud all of you who have enough self-disclipline to sit down after a hard WDW day and write down the high, and low, points. I have never been able to do it....AND I'M A WRITER!!!

Finally, I hit on a successful plan during my trip last January...I took the calendar that I had been making notes on at home during my trip-development stages with me on the trip (originally so I could remember what I was supposed to be doing and when)...I just wrote all my daily notes on the same calendar square as the original planning...Worked peachy...This time I've got a calendar with bigger squares.....

What a great idea!! I would love to see a copy of this! Would that be possible?

I also did scrapbooks for our back-2-back cruises last year - and included all the Navigators/KTTW cards/Luggage tags/maps/copy menus/receipts/photos, etc., and it looks wonderful. Had no problem filling TWO scrapbooks, and have since then shown it to several people who are interested in the Disney cruises. One has already booked, and the others are saving hard!So glad I did it.Nat:Pinkbounc
