Scrambled eggs at Crystal Palace

I have read that the scrambled eggs are liquid and come in a bag which you boil. Anyone have any info about this and maybe know where they can be bought? They are wonderful!!
 
I would think maybe something like a "Restaurant Depot" / Restaurant Supply store would carry them -but they are probably in a fairly large serving size. The other option might be like an REI / Camping type store, where they offer means for people that camp.
 
You can get them at most any grocrey store, they come in a small milk container called egg beaters. :lmao:

1) Scrambled eggs at buffets are not Egg Beaters.
2) Although Egg Beaters are available UPON REQUEST.
3) They are real eggs.

4) One brand is Sunny Fresh (several different mix blends)
. . . sold in 2½-pound and 5-pound baggies
. . . usually 6-baggies per box

NOTE: One would be surprised at how many places serve liquid eggs
in lieu of truly scrambling their eggs. There is far less labor and fuel
needed to use the boiling pouch.

The first hit talks about cooking and plastic but its a bit old. If you dig around the Zip Lock Website I think there is a link that says yes you can cook in Zip Lock bags.

Of course if you have a seal a meal those bags are definitely rated for cooking.

The reason you won't find this in your supermarket (besides Egg Beaters which is made from eggs) is that first most people don't cook for 500 or more people a day in their home and there is a bit of a ick factor here. Just like in a lot of the world people only buy shelf stable non-refrigerated milk.

It seems that some PP's are thinking that because they don't crack every egg by hand there is something artificial to "Liquid eggs". Well the last time I checked inside an egg, the part you eat is a liquid (well my scientist sons would call it something else) but is a liquid.

What they are using is a pre cracked eggs just like most of them use pre squeezed OJ. Oh and at REI they would sell powdered eggs not what they use at all but others have mistakenly said that's what they use.

As for the cooking technique, not only is it faster is makes eggs far superior than could done on a flat top (in a past life I have cracked thousands of eggs for scrambled eggs). In fact I see the technique all the time on the Iron Chef.

I even saw one of those How its made type show where they made continuous hard boiled eggs. Kind of like a filled tube because it made perfectly uniform egg slices.

Same product, just most places would move it into some other food service type container in the back before bringing it out.

3) So, I go to the omelet station and ALWAYS ask for cracked eggs. *

* From experience, I found that I have a reaction to the "baggie" eggs.
I actually have an upset stomach about 1/2-hr after eating. In doing
an experiment, I ate the exact same items for breakfast, and only
substituted cracked eggs for baggie eggs. I did not have the upset
stomach. And, I know several others who have had the same result.

I'm a cook who cooked over 2 million eggs for CrackerBarrel, broken one at a time. I now cook in a hospital using liquid eggs. They come is frozen and there are 6 bags in a case. The 6 bags feed about 100 people. They can be cooked frozen, but we usually move them to the cooler the day before using. They taste great, but you should know that to cook whole bags takes about an hour. You can get these at Gordon's or other food service providers. I've also used the carton eggs at Job Corps. These are usually poured on a flat top grill.

That's just it, you don't know if anything has gone bad until after you eat.
This is kind of getting away from the OP but: There has been many postings saying how they felt stomach sick after eating at some of the resturants. Not just WDW I might add.

If you get sick everytime you eat bag eggs you either have very very bad luck with food poisoning and others would also be getting sick. More likely you are reacting to something else in the egg mix.
